Awesome! You can't tell from the seating chart, but that seat juts out beyond all the rows in front of it, so you're basically looking straight down the aisle, with no obstructions. It's a great view. Enjoy!

I thought it was becoming more infrequent, but it's been every day this week, so who knows? Also, recently, they've released not just $199 orchestra seats, but great $135 and $169 mezzanine seats, as well. Take a look at my release schedule above.

Hi! I'm going to be visiting NYC in a couple weeks and would love to see DEH , so do you know the approximate time the tickets are released four days prior?

Also, what are wheelchair companion seats?

Thanks!!!

I haven't noticed a solid pattern, but they've definitely been releasing last-minute tickets, sometimes as late the day before, and, in the case of this past Friday, the day of. If these seats are wheelchair companion, transfer arm, and transfer arm companion seats, I'm thinking they might hold them longer because of Dolly!'s older demographic.

CT2NYC:  That makes sense.   Thank you.  One more question since you see to know these things.  How do these shows get cancellations?  They make such a big deal about no refunds or cancelations when you buy the tickets.. How does it happen?

From what I've seen over the past few months, generally, tickets have been released in the afternoon, between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Of course, this isn't definitive, but a pretty good estimation. When someone buys a wheelchair or transfer arm (aisle seat with an armrest that lifts up) seat, there are seats set aside for people that accompany them. As it gets closer to the date of the performance, any of these seats that remain unsold  are released for purchase by anyone.

That's a good question, and one for which I don't have a good answer. From what I've gathered, though, it seems like they will do a refund if they're certain that they'll be able to resell the ticket, which is a safe assumption with shows like DEH and Dolly! Maybe someone else can add some insight on this?

This thread is great. I just sold my Oct 7 ticket (gotten by the tip off in this thread) to my friend who has been dying to see this show. He was so happy. Maybe we should change the title of this thread to "DEH tickets -- You Will Be Found?"

Thank you for your help! I'll definitely be checking Telecharge obsessively in the days leading up to my visit. I'm looking to see DEH on a Wednesday, so hopefully that will help since it's a weekday.

Maybe they are released house seats or seats guaranteed for the creators that are released at certain times?   But those seats would all be prime locations.  And with these shows cancelations always tend to be the odd  row R on the extreme side.

For anyone who's curious, here are the seating charts for the Shubert (Dolly!) and the Music Box (DEH), with the wheelchair, transfer arm, and companion seats highlighted. They correspond directly with the last-minute seats released within the last week for both shows.

Yes, Ivy, I love it! I'm sure you've seen the unnecessary negativity on other threads hurled at people asking about getting DEH tickets for under $200. It's my goal to show that it's entirely possible, and, in the process, prove the naysayers wrong.

You are amazing, CT!

A couple weeks ago I snatched a ticket for October 5, for 169, all thanks to your tip.

I went ahead and grabbed it, even though I'm not 100% sure I can make it. But if not I will do what ivy did and sell it and make someone's day. But I think I will be able to make it.

Thanks again.

This thread has given me hope that I'll be able to see DEH lol. I'm seeing some fantastic shows during my visit but being able to see DEH would be the cherry on top.

Me too! When I first started listening to DEH I was sure I'd never be able to see it, at least not with the original cast, but I'm so glad I found this thread!

This morning I was searching and happened to get front [but side] orchestra for the Wednesday Matinee for this week. It may average 4 or 5 days and in the afternoon, but they do seem to occasionally have seats appear almost at random.

It's great to see them releasing those mezzanine seats. They've all been great choices.
