I would be totally shocked if Bette would come out as this show progressed. I'm sure they will find an escape route for her to avoid all the crowds. Not a reflection of Bette at all, but at her age and show's.demands, they may want to curtail the length of her days.

They don't really need to do that. Her car can be right by the stage door, and she'll just leave. That said, she did sign pretty consistently for I'll Eat You Last... although that show was 90 minutes of her sitting on a sofa.
From the pictures I've seen on Instagram the crowd looks like it's 8 people deep, I don't know if it goes down once Bette leaves. I haven't seen any pics of anybody with signed playbills or with pics of cast members. I'm just hoping when I see it next month I get to meet Gavin
I attended the show last night, and immediately after curtain bolted out to the stage door. There was already a bit of a crowd, but my friend and I were able to squeeze right to the front. Bette's car is parked almost directly in front of the stage door, with the barricades and security keeping anyone from getting too close. The leads and supporting actors came out and signed the playbills they could reach around the perimeter, but it was clear that most of the fairly large crowd was there for Bette. Finally, she made her appearance after the rest of the cast had exited, waving and bowing to the crowd before ducking into her car and leaving. From what I understand, having spoken to both the security and fellow crowdgoers, this appears to be the norm, at least for previews.

Fortunate that the Shuberts have those special parking spots on Shubert Alley.
It's apparent she'll be doing the straight to the car routine so anyone hoping to have something signed will need to mail it to the Shubert Theatre for her to sign it. Don't forget to include proper SASE on return envelope/packaging to get it back. The placement of those barricades is so far from her it lends itself from her having to interact with stagedoor-ers unless she chooses to.

Now that previews are done, I wonder if anything has changed with the cast signing, taking pictures, etc.
I was there for the April 13th performance. Before she came out the security guard made an announcement of "No Selfies!". She came out in a little bit and went around the barricades and shook everyone's hand that was in the first layer of people. She got in her car and left.

Just curious- Can you take pics as long as you don't stop her to ask for a selfie? Or do they ask you not take pics at all? (I'm sure people still do - but I personally would want to respect their request which is why I'm asking).
If you look mat instagram you will see what goes on if you stagedoor.

I took a bunch of pics. Not very good by the way. You can take pictures but don't ask Bette for a selfie. That's what was implied by the security guard.

Gotcha thx.

Understandable why she's not really engaging in the stage door business. I'm sure it's a zoo.
I'd love to get her to sign the windowcard, but I'm not putting a forty dollar poster in the mail.

Just start saving up for the fall BC/EFA campaign... save a lot!
Holy crap that stagedoor is insane (just looked at some videos). I can't imagine you even have a shot at getting close if you try to stage door right after the show (unless you are rude enough to leave before curtain call). Are people coming back - or not seeing the show at all- and lining up before the show lets out?
There's way too much random BS under the hellodolly hashtag. Where are you finding these stage door videos?

"I just googled "hello dolly stagedoor" and found a few YouTube videos. Tried the hashtag approach first and realized the same thing so went back to the old fashioned way!
