So I'm visiting New York from June 20th to June 23rd and I'm trying to figure out what I want to see. I have a list that I think would fit my taste and would make financial sense(plus if it's not sold out) and I'd like to get my list trimmed down to four shows.

Waitress
Miss Saigon
Groundhog Day
Come From Away
Great Comet
1984
Sunset Blvd.

From this list and knowing you through your posts over the course of last 1 year, I'd say -

Miss Saigon - the telecharge discount code is pretty good for this.

Great Comet - I hear this has consistently been on TKTS, so might be a good idea?

Sunset Blvd. - this again has been on boards constantly, but if there's any show on this list which I'd buy ahead of time, I'll take this. Nth row seats 2/4 are probably best for their buck.

And tossup between Waitress and Groundhog Day depending on what's cheaper. Something tells me it'll be latter.

I absolutely second Great Comet.  I will be there same week - have already seen Comet so am seeing a number of other shows, including Come From Away which I'm very excited about given the raves. Am probably going to try to catch Sunset (am down to 4 shows for 2 slots...).  So those would be my picks from your list.  I'm also seeing Groundhog Day but have no opinion as of yet.

Waitress will be touring (Jorge I think you are in Chicago - even if it doesn't get to Chi it's coming to Milwaukee) and we will have missed Sara B by June 20 so I'd catch that on tour and try to see something else instead.

Just my two cents FWIW.

Definitely try Sunset if you can get tickets and I know it's not popular but a Waitress is a great show and tickets aren't bad!

I loved this show (have seen it twice and will be going back in April) and agree with this recommendation. The Palace is a large house with more than a few not-so-great seats, so going the last-minute route may well land you in a less than satisfying location. From my experience - and if you can afford it - go with center orchestra and at least as far out as row D or E. The stage is very wide and you will do a lot of scanning from side to side if you get any closer than this (and the projections will largely be indecipherable). Also, when I looked up at the balcony, it looked extremely far away!

I've not seen Miss Saigon here yet (also going in April), but I did see this production in London two years ago and very much enjoyed it. The overall cast was solid (the London leads have been brought over here) and the production was great. The famous helicopter scene is appropriately dramatic and does not disappoint.

I know waitress is going on tour(upset it wasn't announced for Chicagos next season), but with the Betsy Wolfe rumor, that has me excited. Perhaps I should wait to make up my mind once it's more official.

Ooh I hadn't heard the Betsy Wolfe rumor.  Well good news, bad news for me.  Bad news bc there's no room in my June schedule for another tempting option...good news bc apparently I've become less obsessed with this Board than I feared Help me choose shows

On a side note, not sure how many members of the board would be up for this, but I'd love to meet some of you while I'm there. I'll be with family so I'll have to ask them, of course. I haven't been in NY since I saw Mary Poppins with the OBC back in 2008, so I'm excited!

Are there any other NY hangouts you would recommend? I think we will go to the standards, like Time square, schmackary's and as many museums as possible. I'm interested in going to the 9/11 museum, it looks incredible.

Waitress (small show, it will tour, not that great, but I actually liked it)
Miss Saigon (too depressing, only 1 great song in it, I don't need to see the new revival)
Groundhog Day (haven't seen it)
Come From Away (I liked it, but also, just like Waitress, I liked it, but not worth Broadway prices in my opinion, small cast, small orchestra, small set, can be done in regional theater or on tour, very cheap show to run, i think it will run for years and year on Bway, because it's so cheap to run, big profit)
Great Comet (terrible, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy, painfully bad)
1984 (not sure what this is)
Sunset Blvd. (the best thing I have seen on Broadway in years, Glenn is a screen and theater goddess, the 40 piece orchestra, this magical production is a must-see and worth big bucks)

1.  Sunset Boulevard, if you've not seen it with Close

2.  Waitress, if you like chick flicks with good music, and a general good time

3.  Groundhog Day, based on the London reviews, of course.

4.  Miss Saigon, if you liked Les Mis.

5.  Come from Away, if you like one act shows

6.  1984 if you've never seen it and despise the current POTUS

I hated Great Comet -- worst show I've seen in 30 years.
