Saw Waitress tonight and I'm really worried about JM's voice. She seemed like she was really struggling and in pain. Somehow she was still incredible.

She might be a little sick.

A friend saw the show about a month ago and said something similar.

I'm on the minority, but I have never enjoyed her voice.

Oh ****, is she going the route of Alice Ripley circa 2011 on the N2N tour?

Did this happen toward the end of her Beautiful run as well?  I wonder it seems like that score was probably easier on the voice than Waitress (although more songs to sing).

I think she has a beautiful voice and am so looking forward to finally seeing her in Waitress this weekend... we'll see if she's in but more importantly I hope she is ok and is taking care of herself!

I think that's just the way she sounds, honestly.  Both times I've seen the show for the first five minutes I've thought, "Oh, ****, she's sick and sounds terrible," but as far as I know she's been fine both times and I've just gotten used to her voice being a bit "different."  I think it makes it even more jarring if you're used to listening to the Sara Bareilles concept album rather than the cast recording.

I saw the show again a couple of weeks ago and I think her voice is definitely sounding  tired and strained a bit.  She is still wonderful but I have noticed that it has changed as the run has gone on.  Luckily, her run is ending soon

and she can get some well deserved rest.  I thoroughly enjoyed her as Jenna, she has carried all the emotions of this show basically by herself.

The only review of a show that matters is your own.

Saw her Saturday for the matinee and she sounded fine to me. Nothing that would merit a thread, not to mention "worry."
