Was wondering if anyone has tried rushing for Significant Other recently? Where were your seats? Were there still rush tickets available later in the day? Thank you!

I believe they give out front row for rush... it's been mentioned elsewhere.

I just rushed it tonight. I got to the theater at 6:00 tonight and got a ticket for the second row, three seats in from the wall. There were a few faces I missed, but overall very decent seat.

Anyone have recent reports on this? I'm hoping to go one night this week. I was originally planning to do TKTS since the top price for this isn't too bad, but if I can get a rush ticket in the evening (would likely be in the 5:30-6:00 range), and it's orchestra, that would be ideal.

I don't think you'll have much trouble getting rush later in the day, especially on a weeknight.

I rushed last Sunday and arrived not too long after the box office opened.  Sounds like I may have had the same seat as Yero (mine was house right).  That far over you get a little obstruction but nothing to impact your enjoyment of the play.

Rushed this past Saturday at around 5pm and got orch row B. It was marked martial view, but the view was excellent. Didn't miss anything at all. Very good play, heartbreaking performance by glick, especially as the show gets closer and closer to the end.

I did TDF for this show (a few dollars more expensive than rush) and got a second row orchestra seat, dead center. It was a Friday night performance. Just FYI!

Thank you! I am not TDF-eligible so rush + TKTS are my best options.

UPDATE: I got to the box office just after 5:30 and was able to get a rush ticket. Row C on the far left side (4th row from the stage), 3 seats off the wall. Seems to be full view though. Thank you all for your help!

Has anyone rushed this recently? I'm planning on rushing before it closes, but I'm curious how the closing notice has affected it.

I rushed yesterday (Sunday) for the 7 pm show. I got to the box office around 12:30 and got front row orchestra dead center. The rush tickets have been raised to $45, which is about what TDF comes to with fees. The house was filled with actors in current Broadway shows, so I imagine they're papering quite a bit. I highly recommend seeing the show before it closes!

Interesting post ahrealmonsters- I've Rushed a few times for this show- which I adore- and have paid $37 with locs always in the front Orch way over to the extreme side- sometimes the last seat over near the wall. Granted I went later in the day than you. Maybe that's it. You don't miss much and get a few backs and I love being close regardless. Never got center Orch. Maybe because they raised the price? I don't know. I'll be at the last show this Sunday at 7PM through TDF so I don't know where I'll be seated.

Questions for the ones here who have seen and liked this show!

- In the scene where Vanessa is getting married she makes mention that she can't believe that Jordan read from Edna St. Vincent Millay and that her husband's name is Roger. She says she didn't see that coming. What is she referring to? I looked up Millay and couldn't find the connection.

- Also, I believe it's Laura who asks Jordan when he had sex last and he answers her but I never can quite get what he says. Referring to a "something" era?

- And lastly, Jordan's grandmother says to him late in the play that all he has to do is meet his ----. I think it's a Yiddish word she's using but not sure.

Only care so much because I loved this play Off-Broadway and have enjoyed seeing the transfer. Only wish it had a longer run.

Thanks!

EthelMae- To answer your third question, Jordan's grandmother says "bashert" (which has alternate spellings), a word meaning "soulmate."

Thank you so much ahhrealmonsters! Just looked the word up and now it brings new meaning to the scene. I'm Jewish but never heard the word before!

I rushed last Thursday and arrived at 9am. I was third in line and got orch center seats for $45, surprised at the raised ticket price. However, it was incredibly worth it. The show was spectacular. The line grew to be pretty long between 9-10am, so the earlier the better, especially in the show's final week.

Was thinking of going Sunday afternoon, but I'm finicky so I'll probably use a discount code. But my question is, how is first row for this show?

I've done front row dead center, and front row, side orchestra aisle for this. Both were fine. I think on the side, there is a tiny bit you might miss on the upper level on the opposite side, but nothing to worry about.

Hey, tomorrow is the big day! How many of you are going to be there?! Are you gonna line up at 6am for Rush?

Kidding, of course. But I will be there to see the last show at 7pm. So sorry to see this show close so early. I always seem to root for the underdog. Seen this play about 10 times. Crossing fingers that Gideon Glick comes out with a Tony nomination. I know it will be left out of  Best Play nomination- a reason I think the producers decided to call it quits.

Anyway, I'll  miss it.

P.S. Not that I'm predicting anything but I think this might be the last time to see Ms. Barbara Barrie on Broadway.

A lot of critics over at All That Chat giving their last thoughts on Significant Other. "Trim 20 minutes", "Slight play for $150 a pop", "Maybe at 19 but not at 29...". To each his own. I'm there tonight at 7pm for the last show. I'm 58 and gay and totally understand what this man is going through. Please give Gideon Glick the Tony and thank you Barabara Barrie for coming back to Brooadway at 85!!
