Advice on show #1
Posted: 3/8/17 at 7:32pm

We are traveling to NYC in May and have tickets to Dear Evan Hanson, The Great Comet and Hello Dolly. We are trying to decide on a fourth show and the preview discussions are making things difficult.

Please help us decide between the following:  Come From Away, War Paint, Sunset Boulevard, or Miss Saigon

Thanks!

Wow you have three great picks already!!! I haven't seen any of the other ones but out of them I want to see Come From Away the most. Good luck!

Sunset for sure

Tough decision. I really enjoyed Saigon, Come From Away and War Paint.

I will say that if you are a fan of Lupone and Ebersole, War Paint is the show to see. I am SO glad I went last night to see these two electrify the theater!

As mentioned in my thoughts on Miss Saigon, I thought this is what the original production should have been. It is visually grittier and works better. The one big downfall it the Trump reference in Act II.

Come From Away was wonderful.

With all that said, War Paint is not to be missed for Lupone and Ebersole. The Act I closer alone is worth the price of admission. And I will venture to say that you may not see these two powerhouse actresses together in the same show again. See it while you can! Also, I would say it is the least likely to do a tour so see it in NYC. JMO

Just give the world Love.

Thank you for all of the helpful insight! It is such a great season, it is difficult to pick among the shows.

Thanks!

YOU HAVE TICKETS TO HANSEN?!  You dog!

I have seen On Your Feet, Waitress, Fiddler.  All great productions.  Hamilton, of course, if you can get tix.  Sunset sounds amazing!  I just got an ad for someting by Josh Harmon, starring Barbara Barrie ( original cast of "Comoany", Mrs. Barney Miller, among MANY other roles).  I think it's not músical.

I think I'd go Come From Away! I haven't seen it yet, but I've only heard terrific things and the first listen of the cast recording sounded amazing.
