Saw this tonight on opening night, and I think I sat next to Ben Brantley! It's a hilarious show! Highly recommended! It's weird and a little obvious, but the performances are sublime! It's a dark comedy grounded in some sublime female acting!! It doesn't go where you think it does!

One of the worst shows I've seen.  I looked and saw practically everyone in my row asleep - it was really rough sitting through 2 hours of pure boredom without intermission.  In hindsight, I should have just gotten up 20 minutes into the show and walked out rather than suffer through 2 hours with no break.  Meanwhile the last row had all the creative people taking notes and laughing out loud (I guess to create the impression that "wow this is an awesome show!"The Moors   There is heavy fog used in many parts of the show which may cause sensitivities to audience members.  And the acting is severely deficient - this is "high school level" acting and "community theater".  Very very poor show.  This theater company should be producing works at a local community center or at a high school, not on an off-Broadway stage.

That's too bad about the acting. I noticed Andrew Garman is in this and he was fantastic in The Christians last season.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Theater3232, the play has been shortlisted for several prestigious awards, as recently as the Blackburn Prize. http://www.americantheatre.org/2017/03/06/clare-barrons-dance-nation-wins-blackburn-prize/

I'm not doubting your opinion, but I'm wondering what so many of the judges for the playwriting awards see in it if it's the worst piece of theater you've ever seen? I haven't seen it yet.
