At some point I plan to watch it! Hopefully they'll have a rush option during previews. In the meantime, I've been watching the broadwaycom video blog on War Paint (gosh I wish they had one for DEH, CFA, and Anastasia!)

Saw the show in Chicago and enjoyed the leading ladies very much. They made the show for me. Especially Christine, who's performance I found impeccable.

I'll be there Tuesday! It's my birthday and I've never seen either leading lady onstage yet, somehow. I can't wait!

I'm going on April 9th, I think is the date! Never seen Christine live. Have seen Patti in Gypsy twice, a couple of times in concert and in Sunset Boulevard way back when! Looking forward to it - have no idea what to expect!

Didn't previous productions of this get middling reviews?? Is it worth the risk for me to spend $$ on it??

Wow is that a new high for standing room pricing? I rather doubt they will have it as an option very often but that seems steep.

Don't get Too excited and I will tell you why, Most shows that go to the Nederlander Theatre Bomb Out, not to say the show is bad and you will not enjoy it but that Theatre is the House of Horrors, even with a Fantastic show like Honeymoon in Vegas that couldn't last on that dismal 41st Street JMO

That's very expensive for standing room only? Does anyone expect this to do well? Sure the gays will see it... but do the tourists care to? I'm not being catty, this is a real question.

I'm pretty sure China Doll with Al Pacino last year had SRO somewhere around $70, so it's not unheard of to charge this much for SRO when your cast has some star power. I still think that price is absolutely ridiculous, though.

Funny, you should focus on the Nederlander Theatre. We just interviewed Christopher Gattelli about working with Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole on ''War Paint.'' But he also choreographed the last hit show that played the Nederlander: ''Newsies,'' which opened there 5 years ago this spring and won him his Tony.

Is there something about the view from the SRO positions that would make the $50 price more warranted? I can't remember a show charging more for SRO than rush (though I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong).

It's super weird that they're charging more for SRO, and it certainly seems unwarranted. It seems like a blatant cash grab-- ie if the show is sold out we can charge more for standing spots.
