L.A. Times on God Looked Away |
Agreed...and ouch!
And in advance of the conversation yet to come: I support the LA Times producing of this piece
I thought all the papers agreed not to review it because this was very developmental.
I saw it -- it needs work, but there is something there. It just has to chisel away (i think the playwright is too in love with herself). However, I think there is something here -- and it's in Pasadena for god's sake.
The playwright, Dotson Rader is a man.
Ye, the play is being called developmental, but for such plays, the ticket prices don't come close what they are for this show. Go back and read the article agin to understand how the developmental process works.
From my point of view, this production is nothing more than two hacks, the playwright and the director, out to make a buck trashing one of the great American playwrights.
The world did not need End of the Rainbow and it sure as hell does not need God Looked Away!
