Hamilton Broadway New Block Chances? |
I got tickets the day they were released pretty quickly and effortlessly. I would say not to freak out too much, though, and if you don't like the first ticket offer, try again...
I was able to get tickets online easily when the tickets have been released in the past. Know the days / times you want in advance and start clicking exactly when they go live. Have Ticketmaster on your phone AND a computer in case one site is faster than the other. Just keep checking for the next release date and you should be fine.
Do you think I need an Amex card or do you think I can wait for the general public tickets to be released?
Broadway.com came through for me again. Ticketmaster is sold out of the front mezz (and anything below $650) for Christmas week 2017 but Broadway.com got me the front row of the front mezz for $425.

Yes, that's how it works. Impossible to know how quickly those sell out, however.
For what it's worth, there was apparently quite a line at the box office earlier: https://twitter.com/HESherman/status/839134353116512256
Do they hold back a good chunk of online inventory to sell at the box office? Can't imagine that this line was all for box seats...
Before I spend an hour hunting, anyone know if regular price tickets ($225-$250) are all sold out already?
My Christmas shopping for kid's "big gift" is done. Got lower level Row V on 1/3/18 2:00 matinee this morning. Son will be home from college and will have to pull my daughter from school for a day but totally worth it. They are going to FLIP!
Buddy of mine who works the box office told me, when I came into the theatre for work today that the entire block was sold out in two and a half hours upon going on sale.
There are still plenty of premium $500+ tickets available. But i didn't see any of the $199-$250 left on any of the dates I looked at this evening.
The bots won today. Shame on Mr. Seller for the "sneaky" release, yet somehow brokers were lined up around the block for tickets. Now, I log onto Ticketmaster and see nothing but $500++ seats all the way through March 2018?! Shame...shame....shame...

if it's still selling out completely, then it hasn't.

I knew that the new block of tickets was going on sale today at ten. I saw Miss Saigon last night and walked past the Rodgers just to check out what it was like out of curiosity. It was insane. I honestly have trouble believing that everyone camping out for tickets were scalpers. Tickets that are 500 plus in price are the price of the premium tickets. I should have stated in my initial post that it took two and a half hours for regular priced tickets. I am sure that there were regular ticket buyers who could have had multiple tabs/windows open on ticketmaster too. That's something I do for concert tickets all the time. Doesn't mean I'm scalping them. It has nothing to do with bots. But, it does have everything to do with people not wanting to pay premium prices.
And, Margo, the madness for tickets hasn't gone down and won't for a good long while.

And the cast recording is still in the top 20 on Billboard. Aint nothing calming down yet.
Not just bots won! My family has tried for three blocks and four touring cities and were able to get tickets this time. Largely because people on here let us know they were coming. So thank you everyone for your insight!!!

Interesting. First row of front mezz on Ticketmaster is $285.
Upon further review, it looks like there are still many seats available from broadway.com. They're just about 60% more than Ticketmaster's prices.

I guess not for the tourists who did not realize that it was brilliant two years ago? But, for us New Yorkers, who saw the original cast, and who saw it at The Public, it's safe we say we have moved on from the madness and embraced other beautiful works of art.

I am a New Yorker who saw Hamilton at the Public, and I still bought tickets yesterday! For family and friends mostly. I haven't seen the show since the OBC left, but I would like to see James Monroe Iglehart as Lafayette/Jefferson though!
Don't blame Mr. Seller for a sneaky sale. People who buy the actual paper New York Times saw the banner ad at the bottom of the Monday Arts section.
I also think the prices are fair. Why should the production sell tickets for $149, when a reseller can turn around and sell that ticket for $1,200?
The demand will die down eventually, but who knows when?
