I'm having fun discussing season one of Feud: Bette and Joan on its thread so I thought I would ask what everyone thinks about the season two theme of Charles and Diana. It will be written by Jon Robin Baitz of Other Desert Cities fame.

Throw in Camilla and this could be fun.

I think its like following Sound of Music Live with Peter Pan Live.  Big Let Down

I know Americans Ike Diana but it is my understanding they do not care about Charles or the rest of Britians Royal Family, with exception to William and Kate

Joan v Bette is much more equally divided.

Oooooh.

a little surprised they're not doing de Haviliand and Fontaine, though. Thought that was the whole point of casting Zeta Jones.

No thank you. Joan and Bette could be fun camp, but Diana just feels ghoulish. Especially since I cannot imagine Murphy doing it with any kind of restraint or nuance.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Are you not American Petra? I just assumed you were.  Anything involving Diana will spark interest. But I can't imagine Netflix is too pleased with the news. Seasons 4 and 5 of The Crown will focus on her heavily. Feud might steal its Thunder. Quite frankly, I think The Crown will handle it much better.

Did anyone who saw Other Desert Cities think the author of that will be a good fit for this material? I think hiring Baitz indicates that they want this to be a "family drama."

How about

Debbie Reynolds vs Liz Tayor or Letterman vs Leno, or does it have to be two women?

Yes, I am American Carnzee, though I was born else where

I don't think it should be done if one( or more) of the parties is still alive.

Born and lived most of my life in Australia I would have to say I am a semi-Royalist---brought up with the Coronation/played with Royal toy soldiers[wish they had been real], waved to real life Princesses and generally accepted the Queen as head of our Nation.

What Charles did to Diana was unforgivable--the throne needed a fairy tale romance/wedding and old ugly didn't fit the bill[she obviously fitted something else though !!].

They got the boys-just wish there had been a girl--Diana had affairs to try and forget the mess she was in and Charles continued stooping it to the big Sea..

Dianas' universal appeal through her charity work, natural beauty and charm registered globally at her death.

I hope this will be a warts and all account of Dianas' anguish and intolerable unhappiness[except for her love of her 2 boys] and show Charles to be the arrogant, bumbling adulterer 'Prince' that he is. Please dear God don't let him be King but at least 'she' won't be called Queen.

'There are 3 people in this marriage'--what a sad public cry for help.

I hope they get it right as even the Queen stood back and did nothing--even days after Diana died.

A Royal Disgrace-----good name for the feud.
