Breakfast in Hell's Kitchen wkdays? |
The Times Square diner is good with a nice atmosphere and large windows.
Donna bells has the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had, plus all their other stuff is real great, too. Definitely a staple when I rush or if I'm in the area.
Obao is one of my go-to Thai restaurants in the city. Their lunch special is fantastic. About 9 bucks, and you get a large meal and an appetiser. Dinner is great as well. Great cocktails, too.
RUSTIC TABLE! LALI!! BOTH GREAT NABE JOINTS. ENJOY !(they are only open for breakfast and lunch) THERE S ALSO A DEc ENT BAGEL PLACE W/GOOD SPREADS ON 8TH/50TH, when I get the.crave. Otherwise the lovely short trek, on the bus up to the infamous Barney Greengrass, 90th/Amstersdam, for unadulterated Jewish deli, frozen in time in the best way possible. Order: nova on everything BAGEL, scallion cream cheese, tomato, red onion, and some capers. Deeeee lush!
As far as diners in the neighborhood go, you can't go wrong with Westway ("Westway is the best way," as the theater kids I know are fond of saying).

For diners there's the Westway Diner on Ninth Avewe and 43rd St. A lot of Broadway people go there especially between shows.

Westway Diner has been our "hidden gem" for years now, but it's not particularly hidden anymore. The lines are getting longer all the time!

Looking for diner types, but also that serves omelettes, dairy free food...would love organic, but of course tough to do when away.
Any recs?"
If you're trying to keep costs down, I wouldn't recommend going to Le Pain Quotidien every day, but there is one on 55th and 8th.

Does Westway have Dairy Free and Organic options though????
Try Blossom Du Jour, it's fabulous... though it's not much of a sit-down place. There are two Organic spots on 44th st btwn 8th and 9th: Smokey Burger, and a Thai restaurant whose name I can't remember...
Also it goes without saying that Junior's has amazing breakfast... though just like Westway I'm not sure about their dairy-free options.
Been awhile since I was last there (and presuming it's still open...) Vynl has all the options you're seeking.

I am from SF CA and I visit NYC 3 times a year. Stay on 48th St on the Times Square side.
A Hell's Kitchen resident brought me to the Galaxy Diner on 46th and 9th (I think). I usually grab some breakfast there (not every morning) and assume that since a local brought me there, locals eat there.
