Come From Away Rush |
Also, sometimes on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, they? don't start selling SRO until the show is nearly sold out. So you could possibly get away with waiting until later in the day(on Tuesday).

When exactly do they start selling standing room? Is it right when the matinee starts or when it ends at 3:45?
it's right after the matinee starts. So probably 2:15 would be the earliest.

does anyone have an update with how early people start arriving to get tickets for Rush? What would be the best option for cheap tickets, rush or STO

This morning (Saturday, 5/6) I was second in line at 4am. The first person arrived about 5 minutes before me.
4 people by 4:30
8 people by 6:30
16+ people by 7:30
And then the line got really big (50+) between 8 and 10.
Rush seats cost $38 and I got two seats in the 5th row, far left orchestra. They were obstructed view but I didn't miss much (a couple bits in the first song but not much otherwise). I think SRO cost $32. Worth noting that you can't buy SRO's for the evening performance on two show days until the matinee starts.
I think rush for this show will get more & more crowded as the Tony Awards get closer. With ticket demand increasing, there's likely to be fewer rush seats available. Curious as I have yet to find out, but were SRO tickets for the matinee sold right after all the rush tickets were sold?

Has anyone done SRO recently? How does the crowd/wait for SRO compare to the rush line?
Your best bet for SRO is to try for the evening show on Wednesday or Saturday. They go on sale right after the matinee begins.
I did SRO yesterday (Sunday). I got there about 9:30 and was 12th in line. I was starving and not totally sure I wanted to cancel my original plans, so I went to get food and came back about 10:15. I was about 20th in line then. I ended up getting the third from last SRO ticket. The line got long really fast after 10:30.
jennab113, you should've asked for someone to hold your spot! I haven't had any unpleasant experiences recently when asking for someone to hold my spot while I go get food to bring back or use the bathroom.
Any experiences from this week? Pondering rushing tomorrow morning for the evening show but could also do SRO but am seeing a matinee (would running across the street at intermission of Dear Evan Hansen be too late to score SRO?) I want to see it, but not quite freeze for hours want to see it...
I just tried at 530 and no luck for either SRO or rush. I ended up snagging the last waitress sro so I'm happy either way.
If you want rush seats, plan to arrive very early. SRO is a guess, because if the show isn't sold out when the box office opens, they'll wait to sell them.
In the DEH SRO line, observing CFA...
First person arrived at 5:15am.
It's now 5:45 and there's 10 people in line.

Reporting my rush experience. I rushed on a one-show weekday after the tony nominations came out. I arrived around 6:00 and was 5th in line. On that day, 10 rush tickets were sold, followed by SRO tickets. I also heard that 10 rush tickets were sold for a few other performances that week.
As we were waiting in line, several people came by and asked what time we had arrived, trying to figure out what time they should arrive for future performances.
My seat was orchestra right partial view, but I thought it was not bad at all. It's an ensemble show, so even if you are far side, somebody will be looking towards you most of the time. However, I would say SRO spots are probably better if you want to get a good view of the entire show, including lighting, etc.
SRO is probably easier to get for the Wednesday & Saturday evening shows as they don't sell them until after the matinee starts. Also helps for those of us that don't live/work in the area.
I was wondering what someone would suggest. I have a matinee show on Wednesday but was hoping to see come from away that evening with a sro any idea if they would likely still have one available if I rushed over right after the matinee or any suggestions how I could get one. Thanks
The show is selling out faster than ever. I wonder if a line forms now for SRO on Wednesdays & Saturdays in advance for the evening shows on those days? Not sure where they'd be able to form the line, so if anyone is around today and wants to ask, feel free.
Just a note for rush seats now. It seems with most shows being sold out in advance, they're limiting the amount of rush seats to only 10. Some weekday performances might offer more(12/14).
I got SRO for tonight's (Wednesday) evening performance. They started selling SRO at 3PM, people waited outside the theatre before then. When they started selling SRO, there were 6 people in line, so it was a fairly haphazard one.
Thanks! Good to know for the next time I try.
Rush Experience: Tuesday 5/9 (1 show day)
Arrived at about 6:50am, was 11th in line. Came with a friend and we wanted two tickets each. When we went up to box office to purchase, they were out of rush tix so we bought standing room only which was actually AWESOME. We were right in the center and could see everything perfectly. Standing for 100 mins straight (no intermission at this show) was not bad at all.
Shout out to the nice guy in front of me. He told me there's a bathroom at the hotel across the street on the 8th floor.
Plan on getting on line very early for this Sundays rush line but i only need one ticket. I will do the wait for someone willing to pay for my ticket as well as thiers. You can meet me by the line before noon to go to the box office to purchase the ticket.
Pm me if interested.
I've read this entire thread's 6-pages from top to tail, and still don't QUITE have a conclusive idea of Rush/SRO box office trends for SUNDAY shows. The most-recent relevant post is from jennab113 whom attended Sunday 5/18.
I plan to get in line on Sunday 5/14 at 9:00AM (Box Office opens at 12noon). To be honest, I'd prefer SRO rather than Rush because of the show's running-time (better view for standing VS obstructed view for sitting).
Questions:
1. If Rush and SRO are being offered for the same performance, can a ticket-buyer specify which one they would like once they reach the Box Office window?
2. Will they sell SRO if the Rush hasn't been fully distributed yet?
3. Will they sell SRO if the house isn't fully booked yet?
4. Is 9:00AM a good time to get into line on a Sunday?
THANKS FOR THE INSIGHTS!
