So, looks like I'll be having surgery for the first time in almost 50 years.  Anyone have any experience with cataract surgery?  Everything I've been told by the doc makes it seem like a walk in the park, and the online info seems to back that up.  Still, would be interested in hearing from anyone who has actually had the procedure.  Waiting for the dates to be scheduled; having one eye done first, then the other, probably a couple of weeks later.

Any insight (pun intended) is appreciated!

I haven't, but my mother did a few years ago.  She had no issues whatsoever and her eyesight was improved to the point of not needing glasses most of the time.

Good luck Mad.  I remember how happy my Mom was after surgery.

My grandmother did a few years ago, and I recall her saying thereafter that wasn't painful. Since, it's totally changed her world for the better. Good luck, and well wishes!

My dad had it done last year. Basically how you said yours will be. He had no problems.  He actually only needs glasses for reading now.

My mom had her's done in 2015 and all I can suggest is vet your doctor really well.  She was limited who she could go to because of insurance.  It wasn't a positive experience but I won't go into the details.  All I can say is ask other patients about the doctor.
