Coming out

Many years ago, I came out as a gay man. After that, I came out as an atheist, which was actually much harder. Now, I'd like to come out fully about my true feelings regarding Donald Trump, but I fear that I'd be subject to immediate, severe repercussions. Should I be my true self, or give in to fear? Should I come out, or stay in the closet?

If you're having doubts, the reasonable assumption would be that you're a Trump supporter.  That is not an easy task, particularly here.  However, you've always been open and honest, and willing to listen to others' opinions.  The current Trump supporters here cannot maintain a logical conversation, and look to distract and deflect.  I don't expect you would behave in such a manner.

This was an ill-advised post, and I would have deleted it shortly after posting if I could. It was kind of trolling, and I won't do that in the future!

But I want to be clear: I am not a Trump supporter; in fact I'm a fanatical opponent. What I was venting about was having to constantly monitor what I'm saying and writing about Trump, because if my true thoughts made it to the printed page, I'd be in very big trouble in a very short time. :)

Let me try to clarify a little. I used to think the comparisons (stated and implied by his opponents) between Trump and Hitler were a bit overblown. I still think they are, but I've come to think Trump may be bad enough to warrant extraordinary measures to remove him from power.

 I'm not buying this statement. If you're really so against Trump, and  you know this board, you'd know very well there wouldn't be repercussions. Rather there would be full support.

I don't think he's worried about repurcussions from this board, more from "Big Brother" who is  liable to swoop in and have him thrown in Gitmo if he's not careful.

This is a mysterious post kdogg.  Come out, say it, I wish Trump were dead and I wish if it can't be from natural causes then someone would shoot him in the head.  Until you offer a bounty I don't think you're in trouble.

South Florida, I like your spirit but I'd be careful. Even if you haven't said anything that's technically illegal, I'm sure some agents could make things very uncomfortable in the short term.

Of course, I suspect they have their hands full these days.

If something like that happens, you're not looking at a Pence presidency, you're looking at a second civil war. And one side has all the ideals, while the other side has the guns. Doesn't matter which side of the spectrum you're on, I'm gonna say next to nobody wants a civil war, no matter how much they hate or fear Trump.
