Hi! So I am in high school and I am looking for a good dramatic female monologue. it needs to be from a play. my teacher said I have the energy of a light in a dark place, I have looked and looked and gone to the library, like anything that's hopeful in hard times. Help?!

Our Town monologue, where the girl is dead talking to her mom. Read the play in case they ask questions and so you have a good basis for the character. Best wishes

I was just in a play called Lepers by Robert Barone and the character Martha has a lot of dramatic monologues. Really really good if you ask me

A view from the Bridge is a good choice, the part in which Catherine's monologue when she's talking to Rodolpho about Eddie.

Try looking into "A Bird of Prey".  Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but there are some good monologues. There also may be some in "Love, Loss, and What I Wore". The show is mostly made up of monologues and they are all about how an article of clothing related to something bad that happened in the characters' lives, but there might be something in there that would work for what you are looking for. Hope this helps!
