How do we think this will go down? Her new album - to me - is a little ho-hum and unexciting, so not sure how that will translate into a big, splashy halftime show.

I imagine she'll do mostly her previous hits. And I'm sure at least 1 thing to piss off the oompa loompas.

I am pretty sure that if she has the money to pay to preform at the halftime of the Super Bowl, she can afford to make it a flashy halftime show too. My guess, a flashy spectacle of basically " Lady Ga Ga's greatest hits live"

Curious to see if there will be any surprise guests joining her. That is something of a tradition at the Super Bowl.

I'm not familiar with who foots the bill for the Halftime Show.  The artist (or their record label) does?

Not sure who foots the bill, but I do know the artist is not paid for the gig.

I would imagine it would be more of her "greatest hits" as opposed to just songs from her new album.  I hope she does something to piss off the Trumpers.

Isn't resistance to power both of those things?

I tend to agree, but that has nothing to do with Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl. Also, what about the Boston Tea Party?

Seriously, why do you engage them?  They're nothing more than provocateurs, who knows if they truly have any real beliefs?  All they accomplish is to deflect from any relevant topic.

I get what you're saying, kdogg, but why does everything need to be politicized these days? The SuperBowl is the literal prime example of an opportunity for an artist or a famous figure to bring us together as a country and instill a sense of national unity and patriotism again. Not everything has to be partisan.

You're right. I'm morally and intellectually inferior to you. Apologies for trying to interact with people with whom I disagree! Let me just retreat to my cave. Still learning how to make fire. Fingers crossed today's the day!

Well, you're probably right. I'll consider that in the future.

"You are right KDOGG, I apologize.  I was just reading about that and it made my bloods boil.  well the BTP was a riot over a King and an occupying army over taxing the colonies though. Not over somone who who was invited to speak who had a different opinion than them

The Boston Tea Party was in response to unjust taxation. Last night's "protests" (er, riots) were in response to somebody preparing to give a speech. Things get prickly and dangerous when you cross the line from protesting unjust action to protesting the ability of somebody to speak freely and openly.

Milo frequently targets students for harrassment and abuse on the campuses he vists. He's not interested in dialouge or thoughtful exchanges. He's a troll. A dangerous one.

Breitbart writer targets transgender UWM student

"Breitbart writer Milo Yiannopoulos brought his "Dangerous Faggot Tour" to the Student Union at UWM on Tuesday night at the invitation of a new student group called Turning Point USA.

During his speech to a crowd the university estimated at 325 to 350 people, plus others watching via live stream on the Breitbart website, Yiannopoulos singled out a transgender student who had protested against a new UWM policy created for its recreation center's locker rooms.

The policy was adopted after the student — who is in the process of physical transition from male to female — used the sauna in the women's locker room last January. The new policy requires that "non-conforming genitalia be covered at all times," and the university added private showers and changing rooms with curtains to make that easier.

Yiannopoulos named and showed a picture of the student to his audience, and accused the student of being a man trying to find his way into women's bathrooms.

"The way you know he's failed is I can still bang him," said Yiannopoulos, who is gay.

In an email to the campus Tuesday night, shortly after the event ended, chancellor Mark Mone said UWM was prohibited by law from restricting access to its facilities based on the viewpoint of a student organization or a speaker invited by a student organization.

"Free speech is one of UWM’s core values and I will support students’ decisions to bring a wide array of speakers to our campus – even if the speaker is controversial, and even if I disagree with him or her," Mone said.

"That said, I do not agree with Yiannopoulos’ views, and I strongly condemn the belittling of others and their appearance, and the encouragement of hate and harassment. I also will not stand silently by when a member of our campus community is personally and wrongly attacked."

The student withdrew from UWM in October, according to UWM spokesman Tom Luljak."

So the way to counteract somebody whose speech you believe doesn't create a safe environment... is... by... lighting things on fire and shattering windows?
