Bravo, SecState Tillerson! |
I don't believe him for a second. The entire executive cabinet has created an environment of lies. I don't have any faith in what they say and what they actually do.

Fake news at its finest. Or politically expedient theater.
Either way, don't be fooled. Stay woke.
Not surprising. He comes from a company that has supported The Arts for years. Do not believe everything you read. It is 5th most generous in charity.
ExxonMobil's 2015 cash contributions: $268 million
The oil and gas company (XOM, -0.33%) inched up its giving by 13.2% last year. Grants focus on three areas: education, malaria prevention, and economic opportunity for women. The company declined to disclose details of its giving last year. But in 2014, the most recent year for which data was available, grants from the ExxonMobil Foundation included contributions of $80,000 to dozens of science camps at colleges and universities nationwide; $1.9 million to Vital Voices, the international women’s group founded by Hillary Clinton; and $500,000 to the Medicines for Malaria Venture. (Companies are required to disclose grants they give through philanthropic foundations but not what they give directly through their business).

Agreed
Yes, Exxon Mobil gives money to the Arts. Here's the 2015 list from their website. Notice, the donations are limited to a few states and cities. It must be pointed out, the NEA and the NEH gives money in ALL FIFTY STATES.

Welcome Frankie, can you have a more douchier profile picture? Can your posts be more imbecile?
That's funny. "More douchier" and "more imbecile"! That *really* is funny. I assume you're making fun of some obvious grammar error I made but missed before hitting Post Message?
Add: Sorry all, I know it's not kosher to go off topic even on off topic boards. This thread was about Exxon, which is what my post was referencing.

"Never thought I'd be praising Tillerson, but I commend him for his tweets in support of the NEA."
The dance studio my oldest daughter teaches has on their FB page a petition they want people to sign and send to the White House in support of funding the arts. I think they need something like 10,000 signatures. Not sure if this is a national or local thing.
Actually surprised he got through so easily.
Senate confirms Rex Tillerson for secretary of State
The Senate confirmed former ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson as secretary of State on Wednesday, even as Democrats blocked progress on other Cabinet nominees chosen by President Trump.
Three Democrats and one Independent who generally votes with the Democrats joined a solid rank of Republicans in approving Tillerson 56-43.
The vote puts a man who has negotiated business deals with countries around the world, including some hostile to the United States, in position to negotiate on behalf of Trump in matters of war and peace, climate change and human rights.
