Yes!

The only thing historic about Donald Trumps election is that it drew the largest inaugural protest in the history of the country. And not just in DC but in every major city here and every continent in the world. This is what history will remember about the Trump inauguration. And I'm sure it is driving him insane. From the looks on Melania's face it doesn't seem like things are going well behind the scenes. The media coverage must be driving him insane! What will his first tweet be?? Has anyone seen Kelly Ann Connway today? What does the "world's most influential woman" have to say about this? Has she blamed paid protesters yet?

Unfortunately I can't participate today, but seeing the coverage and hearing from friends that are there is making me feel so much better than yesterday.

Trump supporters were not a silent majority. They were a loud minority. So whenever you're reading one of BroadwayC's posts on here remind yourself of that. There are more of us then them. And Donald Trump has woken us up.

Mr Abraham Lincoln had hugest protests against him for the population at that time. Democrats publicly thratened to kill him. So much that he had to arrive in secret and darkness.

Womans March is a great idea. Too bad if you are  ProLife you are not included and are left out

Also loving the marches being held around the world. London, Berlin, Paris, Toronto, New Delhi, Tokyo even Antarctica.

A Chorus Line played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013.

I'm loving it too. I wish I could have attended one.  Unfortunately,  stuff going on made it not possible.  But, I did donate some money to some organizations. And I put on a pink shirt.

And Petra,  you are wrong about pro-lifers being left out.  This is not an abortion march. It is about much more than that. And since I know next week is the Right to Life march,  doesn't that exclude pro-choicers?

The Right to Life march is, by its name, issue-oriented.

Marianne. This is why so many women voted Trump. And why Hilary lost. Such a narrow view of women's rights. And who worthy

WASHPOST Controversy erupted when New Wave Feminists, a pro-life group, applied to become an official partner for the march. Organizers initially granted the request, but rescinded the sponsorship invitation once word spread in liberal feminist circles. Activists on the left have long held that women’s reproductive rights are central to any fight for women’s rights.

Will that exclusion harm organizers’ efforts to build a large coalition, sacrificing the goal for the sake of ideological purity? That’s how some critics see it. If pro-life women also care deeply about eradicating sex discrimination, providing paid family and sick leave, fighting for racial justice and raising the minimum wage — all goals supported by liberal women’s organizations — is the exclusion smart politics?

Thanks for popping in Petralicious as I couldn't recall the spelling of your screen name and it wasn't worth my time trying to search for it but I can now block you.

I just got back from the one in Chicago. Crazy! About 70,000 excepted, but almost 250,000 showed up. We couldn't march because there were so many people on the roads. So officially they ended the rally at 11:30, but then we marched on the route anyway. It was such a great experience (especially seeing all the kids there), gave me so much hope after yesterday.

Begone, you pro-Trump trolls, before someone throws a pail of water on the two of you!

This is OUR day, not yours.

Your day was yesterday, and it was pretty pathetic.

"Mr Abraham Lincoln had hugest protests against him for the population at that time.''

LOL

Reaching back to Lincoln. No comparison. This protest wasn't only nationwide it was worldwide. Over 100,000 in Boston alone. At least one protest in every state. It's a historic day.

Most recent estimation for the NYC crowd was 200,000. Thrilled I was able to go- I am decidedly not a crowds person, but I've never been so happy to see midtown Manhattan absolutely packed. It was beautiful.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I feel comfortable the NYC crowd estimate will grow to well over 500k.

First Avenue was closed off for the UN event from the Midtown Tunnel to the 59th Street Bridge, qnd Fifth Avenue was closed from the NYPL to Trump's castle.

I was at the march in DC. I believe the estimates were 700,000. D.C. Had far too many people as well. The crowd ended up marching on the mall trying to make its way to the White House, unfortunately cops were blocking the entrance to Pennsylvania Avenue. It was still a powerful moment though.

I truly hope the republicans and Donald trump look at this movement and learn something from it.

It almost doesn't matter what they learn.

What matters is that our side felt its ability to organize and saw exactly how much strength there could be in our numbers, if we come together in opposition to the repression and totalitarianism of the new administration.

And it was organized by WOMEN!

I was at the one in Dayton, OH today. And while it was certainly smaller in number than the bigger cities, it was such an inspiring event, filled with passion, love, and vigilance.

I went with my sister, my girlfriend, my brother and his wife here in NYC. It was amazing! Huge, huge turnout. We're not sitting at home complaining and arguing with pro-Trumpers on the internet and social media.

We are going out there, doing something about it and making our voices heard.

Forget about the BroadwayConcierges and the Petraliciouses of the world - - - they can sit behind their pic screens and spout their nonsense.

We on the other hand will be out there fighting the good fight - - - we will not sit by idly and normalize this Presidency.

That is not an option.

Do you know what time Pennsylvania Ave. was blocked? We were able to march on it but I'm not sure if it went all the way to the White House.  We did pass Trump's Hotel and that's where people got really vocal.

I got to Pennsylvania Avenue at around 2:30 I'd say. So did you get to the White House?

I saw photos that the White House fence were knocked over, not sure if that's what I was seeing though.

No protester made it close to the White House, much less knock down any type of fencing or gate. Stop spreading such ridiculous rubbish.

Today was a fantastic day for America, a day this country desperately needed. Let's hope this builds momentum into the kind of resistance that'll be necessary to stop Trump.
