That was a real snooze. Isn't it time to put Riedel out to pasture and encourage him to find a job where he provides something that someone actually wants?

It's tough for him these days when it's a slow death week.

Probably so he can position it as this season's underdog and try to take credit if it's successful. Riedel also likes taking shots at the shows/performances that are considered locks for awards -- see pretty much everything he's written on HAMILTON -- so it makes sense he would try to position Andy Karl as Ben Platt's "spoiler".
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

Sometimes, for a laugh, I go back and watch old TheaterTalk episodes on youtube where Riedel predicts the Tony Awards-- Out of dozens of predictions over the years, I think he's been correct twice... Can't they just make Jesse Green the full-time host and be done with it?
