A Kazakh man was given a three-year sentence in a penal colony after he was found guilty of insulting Russian President Vladimir Putin on Facebook. Sanat Dosov, 46, is believed to have been arrested in August, which is when he stopped posting on Facebook. Kazakh criminal law says one cannot incite “social, national, generic, racial, class, or religious hatred” and is prohibited from insulting “the national honor and dignity of religious feelings of citizens.” Although Kazakhstan and Russia are separate countries, Dosov was still charged and sentenced under that law. He called Putin a fascist, among other insults, and apparently wrote that Putin was “ruining” Russia.

No doubt this law would appeal to Trump!

Wasn't there a similar situation where a German reporter made a negative remark against the President of turkey, and there's some weird law in Germany where you can't insult a foreign leader? I could be entirely wrong, but I remember reading about this.

These are the types of "consequences" for speaking out against Trump that Kelly Anne was probably referring to!

I think this is what you're talking about:

It was a comic rather than a journalist, but you got the gyst of the situation right.

Free speech is one thing that the US does better than pretty much any other country. It's sad that politicians from both sides of the aisle want to limit it in different ways.

Or according to Petra, it's simply being unPC.

Maybe one of your own csn explain it to you MrMatt...

Noted Trump Hater Anthony Bourdain slams ‘privileged’ liberals for ‘utter contempt’ of working class

“The utter contempt with which privileged Eastern liberals such as myself discuss red-state, gun-country, working-class America as ridiculous and morons and rubes is largely responsible for the upswell of rage and contempt and desire to pull down the temple that we’re seeing now,” Bourdain said in an interview with Reason magazine.

“I’ve spent a lot of time in gun-country, God-fearing America,” Bourdain continued. “There are a hell of a lot of nice people out there, who are doing what everyone else in this world is trying to do: the best they can to get by and take care of themselves and the people they love. When we deny them their basic humanity and legitimacy of their views, however different they may be than ours, when we mock them at every turn and treat them with contempt, we do no one any good.

What is that supposed to "explain" to me?  Your vague comparison of the reaction to the man's verbal assault on Ivanka to any "(company, official, actor, politician) made those unPC comments about (choose any liberal cause) and got (fired or boycotted)"?  Because you're still not making much sense or connecting any dots with Bourdain's opinion on "political correctness", which he really only limits to the example of comedians and the idea of comedy as an art form.  This is the relevant part of the article you didn't cut and paste:

"I hate the term political correctness, the way in which speech that is found to be unpleasant or offensive is often banned from universities. Which is exactly where speech that is potentially hurtful and offensive should be heard.

The way we demonize comedians for use of language or terminology is unspeakable. Because that's exactly what comedians should be doing, offending and upsetting people, and being offensive. Comedy is there, like art, to make people uncomfortable, and challenge their views, and hopefully have a spirited yet civil argument. If you're a comedian whose bread and butter seems to be language, situations, and jokes that I find racist and offensive, I won't buy tickets to your show or watch you on TV. I will not support you. If people ask me what I think, I will say you suck, and that I think you are racist and offensive. But I'm not going to try to put you out of work. I'm not going to start a boycott, or a hashtag, looking to get you driven out of the business."

The article explains Bourdain's view on a sector of Liberals and political correctness (specifically focusing on the careers of comedians) some of which I agree and some of which I don't. You, on the other hand, were making a generalized blanket opinion on political correctness, which really isn't supported by "one of my own" as per the opinion of Anthony Bourdain (whose opinion on politics has never been a point of reference for me, anyway).

I guess I was speaking more of the liberals elites utter contempt for people in the red States who cling to their Bibles and guns as the reason for Trump winning.

Anyone who takes moral or intellectual lessons from Anthony Bourdain is an even greater moron than he.

That is what you believed I personally needed explaining from Anthony Bourdain?

I'm totally sick of people blaming Trump on anyone other than the scumbuckets who voted for him. (I take full ownership of my contempt for that depressingly large group of Americans.)
