Best Movie of 2017#1

With the year coming to a close, thought it would be cool to have a best film you've seen this year thread.

Mine would be Park Chan Wook's The Handmaiden. I saw this film back in October and have not stop singing it's praises ever since. It encapulates so much of what makes going to the cinema great. It's a romance, thriller, period piece, and many things more. While both being very touching, funny, and very dark all at the same time. For those who are fans of his such as Oldboy and Lady Vengence, know that he shoots violence like no one else in cinema today. Well, he can do the same with sex. This film two of the most beautiful sex scenes that I have seen in a long time. Also, the plot and pacing of this film is so intricate, one false move and whole thing really could have collapsed, but it never does. Also, the look of this film is stunning from look of the film, the way he shoots certain scenes, to the costume design. Although, I've some other equally as well crafted and acted films this year. Nothing has compared to the awe I had while watching The Handmaiden.

I still have a lot to see from the holiday film flood (Silence, Toni Erdmann, Paterson, 20th Century Women, etc.), but for me the best movie of the year is O.J.: Made in America, no question. I've never seen a documentary so exhaustive. It lays it all out for us, how the O.J. trial was both a product and a key factor of race relations in L.A. (and the country in general), and it's funnier, sadder, and more disturbing than any fiction film I saw all year.

Shouldn't the title be best movie of 2016

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

It's not my #1 favorite for 2016, but major kudos go to the filmmakers for creating a very interesting film about a subject matter, and its central characters that I thought had been completely exhausted, ad nauseum.

I really enjoyed the insights and kept wondering why it took so incredibly long for anyone to expose them before? It later occurred to me that the "whys" of keeping so much of that information untold for so long might be reflective of how the public felt about OJs guilt.
