Can anyone suggest a 'personality' audition song for a teen female? Preferably a song that is comedic or has potential for acting that is appropriate. She is a great actress and would do well with a upbeat piece. Considered "I want it now" from Willy Wonka Jr., due to the iconic comedy of the piece, but she wants to explore other options. Decent voice, looking for a somewhat easy song, but open to any suggestions! Soprano and this is for an audition song.

Thanks. Because several "hilarious" songs may be on the unofficial "do not sing" lists for being overdone. Although, of course, if the young lady can really deliver, it should not matter. For soprano, she could consider Veronique from On the 20th Century - although that might be a little overdone with the recent revival and Chenoweth's popularity. "That'll Show Him" from Forum.

Is "I Want to be a Rockette" a soprano song? I haven't looked at the sheet music. (Is there even sheet music available?)
My go-to was always "Don't Wanna Be Here" from Ordinary Days. It allows the performer to really show off their acting abilities as well.

I highly recommend "Please Don't Hand Me Your Baby" by the British duo of Sarah Louise Young and Michael Roulston. I have sheet music for it (which they allow me to give out if requested -- I wrote the last line of the song). Why is this a great one to audition with? You sing it absolutely straight -- the straighter you sing it, the more the audience laughs, but you don't mug, don't acknowledge their laughter.
Here is a video of the authors singing it in a London show -- it's not well known on this side of the pond, and for humor, that's what you want. Let me know if you want the sheet music and I'll email it to you.
