When is MSNBC going to bring back Olbermann |
LOL. I highly doubt that MSNBC's unflagging race to become CNN Lite includes Olbermann's return, or hiring any new politically outspoken hosts.
There's also the whole matter of him being a massive asshole that few people can stand working with/for.
MSNBC needs to retire Chris Matthews and give Joy Reid a primetime slot.

I gave up on that tired Trump enabling station. No spine - softballs thrown to anyone loving Trump. No interest in Rachel and her love for Kellyann Conway,
CNN Lite is correct!
You mean CNN has been to easy on Trump? I think during the campaign they actually went after him pretty well, and the Trump supporters were always in the minority. But I do want to see more people on MSNBC really stick it to Trump. Olbermann would be perfect!! Bring him back!!

CNN normalizing Jeffrey Lord is not journalism - it is facilitating hate speech.
Chris Matthews is a freaking nut who threw softballs to Trump on many occasions.
Joy Behar would be great - but I will not let be mislead by false narratives, I will stick to Netflix and Shameless for the next year.
And, yes, I am unreasonably jaded.
CNN hired Corey Lewandowski the moment he stopped working for Trump, and allowed him to be Trump's puppet on the air for months. Both CNN and MSNBC did a major disservice by basically allowing unfettered coverage of Trump throughout the campaign, basically serving as his PR channels. They played entire Trump rallies with little to no editorial input. No other candidate on either side got comparable coverage (nor should they have).
MSNBC has steadily abandoned its liberal principles by firing or demoting its more liberal hosts and replacing them with newsreaders. The people who are left lob softballs because they're afraid that anything more critical will limit their access.
The best thing we can all do is turn off the television and subscribe to actual news sources. I've upped my number of newspaper and magazine subscriptions (in print and online) and I would recommend others do the same. The perspective you get from an actual journalistic source is unparalleled by anything on cable news.
The news media is a joke. They have no integrity only to money and ratings. Can we add abc having former Clinton spokesboy George Stephanopoulos as the head anchor on GMA? He was secretly donating to Clintons until being caught and reprimanded during Hilarys csmpaign.

Thank you AC - agreed. I personally am taking some time off. Trump will still be around if I do not read the news.
oh i completely agree AC. Every little thing this man tweets is being covered which is beyond obnoxious. I just never got the sense that most people on CNN actually liked Trump. Especially when you had Gloria Borger, David Axlerod, Van Jones, and a bunch of other liberals attacking him.
As far as Stephanopoulos is concerned, I think he's always been really tough, but fair to all candidates.

I've all but given up on the talking heads on both cable & broadcast tv. The culprit...cross-media ownership.
It's disturbing that MSNBC and CNN are largely owned by two god-awful cable tv companies. Try getting your local franchise authority to replace whichever one holds a monopoly in your service area. The result is that those two cable behemoths own both the content and medium of communication, with emphasis on the word "content" in place of what used to be called "news". MSNBC and CNN's corporate overlords have just as much control over content on the so-called left as Rupert Murdoch has (and Roger Ailes previously had) on the right. The fourth estate was high-jacked by oligarchs decades ago. I wish there was some sort of Chinese wall separating news divisions from corporate profit centers.
ETA: re: Greta van Susteren...she was one of Roger Ailes' lap dogs...not a fan even if she recently found religion.
The only people on MSNBC worth tuning into these days are Rachel, Chris Hayes, and Steve Kornacki. I actually don't find Rachel as having much "love" for Kelly Anne. Yes, she has her on, but she goes right after her every time. She doesn't shout and scream, but comes armed with facts, which Kelly Anne often has no defense for. Kelly Anne has looked like a fool every time she's been on her show.
I absolutely love Joy Reid and wish they'd give her a primetime slot. She's a major talent and doesn't let the Trump people off at all.
Morning Joe is the biggest embarrassment going- those two will go whatever way the political winds seem to be blowing. Joe is kissing Trump's ass now and Mika is a waste of oxygen. To use Trump terms, "a total disaster" of a show.
The way CNN helped normalize Trump, by hiring all those idiots (led by Lewandowski) as a way to try and provide "balance" makes me never want to watch that network again.
My name is neither "adam" nor "greer."
I actually like watching Morning Joe even though Mika has become a trump sympathizer since he won. They desperately need new stars on the network no doubt.
Morning Jo(k)e needs to go the way of the dodo. They're so disingenuous. They kiss Trump's ass, then when others start calling them out on it, they switch and go very hard line against him for a while. Then the next day, they're back to kissing his ass. They did the same thing with Chris Christie. They go whichever way the wind blows.
