Without a doubt, my daughter's best friend died in a car accident the same day my aunt died.
The day after the election for me.

Wednesday, November 9.
Macklemore Performs Wednesday Morning on Ellen
For me, it was definitely the day after the election. It affected me more than any external event I can think of, even 9/11. The latter was an event imposed on us by an external party, but the election showed the absolute worst of our country. I couldn't believe how much I had overestimated my fellow Americans.
Overall, it's been a crappy year and sadly, 2017 doesn't look very promising.
I have a few "nominees"
1. November 9, for obvious reasons.
2. A few days after Bright Star closed. I know it wasn't the most popular show of the year, but it truly changed my life in multiple ways and when it sunk in that it was gone, I spent most of that day crying.
3. The day I found out I had small vocal nodules.
4. The day my dad moved to New Jersey.
My 2016 has been rough, but there was some good sprinkled in there. Here's to hoping that 2017 brings prosperity for all.

"So sorry to hear that Yankeefan. "
Thank you. It was a very rough day. My aunt was 95 so while it was sad that she was no longer with us I was comforted by knowing she had lived a long and good life. Wonderful lady that lived life to the fullest. My daughter's friend was just devastating not only to my daughters but to my wife and myself. She was a beautiful young women and the nicest person you could hope to meet. We met her when she was 6 yrs old and we became good friends with her family. I also had to help my daughters thru this experience and it took awhile for things to get back to normal.
The day after the election- felt like walking around after a funeral. Pulse is a pretty close second.
As I went to go vote (for Hillary Clinton) at around 10am on November 8, it was truly one of the happiest most proud moments of my entire life. I was on Cloud 9. I was absolutely elated. I felt like I was contributing to a historic moment in time and you could not wipe the smile off my face as I walked around the Upper West Side proudly wearing my "I Voted" sticker.
I stayed up all night that night and the days following have been some of the worst ever. I wish I could bottle up that feeling I had at 10am on 11/8/16 and carry it with me forever. I honestly don't know if I'll ever feel that happy again in my entire life. I too overestimated my fellow Americans and now I will forever be disappointed in them. Here's hoping that my negative vision of what the future holds for this country is vastly exaggerated. Good luck to us all.
Yankee, That is real life. Not some silly election. God Bless them both as well as you and family.
My Mother died in April.....She loved Hillary and wanted her to be President.....
So the day after the election I said a little prayer to Mother..."Well Hillary didn't make it"
I felt that I lost the Mother of our Country.....I am very sad for both..
