I have tickets to see the curious incident of the dog in the night time tonight and someone I know also rushed and got front row on the sides. They wanted to know if I wanted to trade seats, mine are in the rear mesz. I know the show is really technical so would it be better to see it all front afar, or be close to the action? This is at the oriental theater in Chicago btw

The sight lines are terrible. You will lose about 30% of the stage from the sides.

Don't know that theatre in Chicago but in New York I sat everywhere. The front side Orch seats were crummy sightlines, especially if you have never seen the show before. I'd keep your Rear Mezz locs!

For background, I saw the first performance of the show last night.

Our seats are in the center of the second row and I checked out the sightlines from the sides. This is not a hypothesis! Haha. They are actually terrible.

Well they aren't the extremes sides, they're the last 2 seats in the center. Still bad?

I think it's too close

I saw it in London and was in the 7th row and on the right side of the theater, thought it was great to be that close.

The Oriental is too big for a drama, let alone from the rear mezzanine.  Definitely go for the orchestra seat.  I saw it in Tampa from the second row, 'sidish.'  While there were some negatives, it was really good to see the faces, which you would never see from the rear mezz.  Definitely.

I saw the show tonight and thought it was brilliant! Just one question, does the train supposed to move? I know for the promo videos it shows the train actually working and moving, but I'm not sureiff it was different for the tour or if it was just a technical glitch.

This was probably the greatest theatrical experience I've ever had. It had all the emotions needed. I could see this being translated into film extremely well, I guess that's why Warner Brothers co-produced the show. And the guy playing Christopher, oh my god was he making a star turning performance. Just everyone was amazing.

The train moved in Tampa.  Must have been a malfunction.
