Chorus Lines of the 1950s

 I'd like to hear from any still living chorus members who worked from 1950 to 1959 in a Broadway musical. Tell me one interesting story you may have of Ethel Merman, Gwen Verdon,  Jerome Robbins,  Alfred Drake or other 50's musical person.  Was being a "gypsy" in the 50's easier or harder than todays. Maybe you had a parent who was one and remember a story they told you.  Thanks.
