I highly recommend Come From Away. I thought it was entertaining, clever, touching, and uplifting. And it was a joy to spend an afternoon in the beautiful Royal Alexandra, looking fresh, and more comfortable than ever.

This is a long shot, but has anyone tried the rush line for SRO at Come From Away? If so, did you get your tickets and how early did you get there?

Thanks!

I haven't done it, but I've heard people get there 3-4 hours prior to the box office opening,

If anyone wants to rush this before the end of the run, I got there at about 9:15 AM and was the first in line. I managed to get two tickets for the show that night. The SRO spots are pretty great and you don't miss anything. I could not recommend this show any more! It was outstanding!!!!

I lined up at 820am and was #14 in line on Wed Jan 4. They put both the matinee and evening shows on sale at same time when box office opened at 11.. I got evening tickets and it was a Great location to watch from! Incredible show..Came home and immediately bought seats for October on Broadway when I will be in NY.

The Come From Away move to the Elgin Theatre is puzzling for many reasons, but this statement from Mirvish in The Star article had me scratching my head:

"Communications director John Karastamatis said that they’ve never had to continue a show by moving it from one venue to another."

How soon they forget that We Will Rock You did just that!  What an oversight!

Tag, you are correct on the moving AND We Will Rock You!

I would have thought the show would have gone into the Winter Garden. The Elgin just seems so large, due to the only one balcony. I hope nothing but the best for Come From Away at the Elgin! That means more and more people will be able to see the show, and see the theatre!

P.S. interesting they announce later that Opera Atelier (one of the big clients of the Elgin) is moving to the Ed Mirvish Theatre.

I've heard that the plan is to reduce capacity at the Elgin, similar to what they do at the Mirvish, though don't quote me on that. It'll be close in capacity to the Royal Alex, which still brings it to a higher capacity than the Winter Garden.

The real challenge for them will be dealing with TIFF if the show continues to run through the film festival.

Tourboi, you are correct The seating chart on the TicketKing website, they are not selling the last 5 rows of the orchestra, and they are only selling the mezzanine, not the balcony.

Mirvish almost always puts their sitdown shows on a hiatus week during Tiff, so it might not be a problem.
