President Trump: The Coming Impeachment |
Once again, he was tweeting to complain about SNL last night. The man really doesn't have a thick skin at all. Funny how he can dish it, but can't take it. And it's not like he's the 1st president elect to be parodied on the show. I still remember clips of Chevy Chase playing president Ford in the 70's
He's so thin-skinned that he's more concerned about an SNL parody than he is about the international incident he started on Friday.

Obviously everything Trump does is for self-enrichment and not for anyone else's benefit, but I actually think his conversation with Tsai is the only good thing he's done so far. Taiwan is a liberal democracy that is very likely to enact marriage equality soon, while mainland China is... far, far from that. I realize that the US can't have official diplomatic ties with Taiwan, but the two can and should have friendly relations, and we shouldn't let ourselves be bullied by some of the biggest human rights violators in the world.
I say this as someone who has studied Chinese language and culture for a long time, and have made three amazing trips to mainland China. But the government there is despicable, and does not deserve the respect of presidents or anyone else.
Fair point, and I'm not defending China at all. However, you don't want to end up in a war with China or even a trade war. It's more the fact that Trump completely ignored diplomatic protocol that gives me worry. If he's this brazen at this point, what's he going to do when he's actually in charge?

62 million or more voted for an authoritarian. We reep what we sow.
According to Professor Laurence Tribe of Harvard, Trump's violations of the Constitution are severe enough for the electors to vote against him or the Congress to impeach him.
The conservatives who choose to look away from these serious constitutional violations simply because their side "won," are hypocrites and un-American.
LAURENCE H. TRIBE: Donald Trump will violate the US constitution on inauguration day
I'm kind of sad Sylvester Stallone turned down Trump for chairman of the National Endowment. It would have been fun to hear Stallone talk about making the Endowment bigger--or shrinking the Endowment down to a manageable size.
Sylvester Stallone ‘Flattered’ But Not Interested In Trump’s Chairman Offer: Trump reportedly offered the actor a position with the National Endowment for the Arts

I hope not "every move" but any move that might have a genuinely negative impact on the economy, wealth of individuals, rights of individuals etc. At least think about it first.
Over 60 million Americans have been conned. I'm not sure how much can be accomplished until a big chunk of those folks realize that fact. I'm also not sure about how to convince them.
The Great thing about United States is the founders genius in not allowing one person too much power to cause too much damage.

Oh yes, this was such a common sentiment by the right in the last 8 years. They were always going on about how thankful they were that Obama didn't have too much power.

Conversely, I bet those on the left are going to suddenly rediscover their distaste for an overreaching executive branch.
If Trump is overreaching because Congress is unwilling to act on important issues like immigration, I will not object (based on process, I may object on policy). I have a bigger concern Trump will work in concert with Congress, because they will kowtow to him.
Interestingly, I of course approve of Obama's actions on immigration in terms of policy, and that's enough for me to overlook the problems with process. :)
Now, his private and personal kill list of Muslims? Not so much.

Paul Ryan has a weekly cunnilingus meeting with Trump on his schedule! We will not even be able to keep up with the oppression that will come out of this Congress. The right to breathe will be rescinded on 1/23. Right to fart on 1/24.
The Inauguration Committee has been having a lot of trouble booking entertainment for the inauguration.
Trump is apparently 'very unhappy'. So far only the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and a singer from America's Got Talent are confirmed.
My heart bleeds for him
