President Trump: The Coming Impeachment |
I will literally bet anything, anytime, anywhere that PJ will be wrong about anything he says. I go by track records, and that's what PJ's got.
So are we on? At the bookies' 4:1 odds I originally proposed? Or are you suggesting the 2:1 it's come to since you and your Ukrainian troll moll dragged your heels?

Hmm, no, I am not going to wager my money with anonymous online discussion board users, even on a sure chance. Thanks for the offer, though!
My points were that Trump will not be impeached and that PalJoey is literally always wrong.
So, using the word literally in your last post makes you a liar. Or do you use Kellyanne Conway's alternative facts to always be right?
Lol, ouch! You sure got me, Marianne! You dastardly scoundrel!

HUFF POST: Constitutional Scholars To Sue Donald Trump Over D.C. Hotel And Other Businesses: The lawsuit will accuse Trump of allowing his businesses to accept payments from foreign governments, in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
For those keeping count at home, this will be the second lawsuit filed against Trump in the last two weeks.

Don't take it from me. Take it from Robert Reich's Facebook page:

I had breakfast recently with a friend who's a former Republican member of Congress. Here's what he said:
Him: Trump is no Republican. He’s just a big fat ego.
Me: Then why didn’t you speak out against him during the campaign?
Him: You kidding? I was surrounded by Trump voters. I’d have been shot.
Me: So what now? What are your former Republican colleagues going to do?
Him (smirking): They’ll play along for a while.
Me: A while?
Him: They’ll get as much as they want – tax cuts galore, deregulation, military buildup, slash all those poverty programs, and then get to work on Social Security and Medicare – and blame him. And he’s such a fool he’ll want to take credit for everything.
Me: And then what?
Him (laughing): They like Pence.
Me: What do you mean?
Him: Pence is their guy. They all think Trump is out of his mind.
Me: So what?
Him: So the moment Trump does something really dumb – steps over the line – violates the law in a big stupid clumsy way … and you know he will ...
Me: They impeach him?
Him: You bet. They pull the trigger.
Meanwhile, he's pissed off the CIA by attempting to use them as his props and stooges on Saturday.

So make the wager paid anonymously to a charity of the others choosing.
Or don't u believe we should help others?
Mmm...no, I'm still not gonna invest my money into any stakes with anonymous online discussion board users. I'll stick to the charity plans I follow through with every year, thanks.

When you made the first statement you knew you were making it on an anonymous online discussion board. So your first post was just childish nonsense.

You are correct, mar. I should have written "would" instead of "will." I would indeed bet against PalJoey if I knew him or her beyond these boards. I am not, however, going to willingly offer money to a Gene Kelly avatar.
This bet merely states impeachment proceedings will begin. Make it real and say when he will be removed from office. Make that bet.
Too many variables: impeachment can be delayed, and then there is the actual trial in the Senate. Most like scenario would be the Nixon scenario, in which the proceedings are halted by a resignation.
But I'm sure you can find bookies who will give you odds on removal from office. That would be YOUR bet, though, not mine.
My offer stands.
Good News, Looks like Trump, Bernie and The Democrats are working together.
Sanders: I'll work with Trump on trade
Sanders hailed the move, saying the TPP is "dead and gone."
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) praised President Trump Monday for pulling out of a massive Asia-Pacific trade deal, offering to work with him on the issue in the future.
"For the past 30 years, we have had a series of trade deals ... which have cost us millions of decent-paying jobs and caused a 'race to the bottom' which has lowered wages for American workers," he said.
Trump is also expected to renegotiate the Clinton-era North American Free Trade Agreement.
Top Democrats, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (N.Y.), broke with Obama over the TPP.
Democratic Sens. Tammy Baldwin (Wis.), Debbie Stabenow (Mich.), Jeff Merkley (Ore.), Ed Markey (Mass.) and Warren introduced legislation last week that would have required the president to withdraw from TPP and take away the administration's ability to fast-track it through Congress.

Maybe things can and will get done?
Let's try this one and see if maybe things can and will get done:
Democrats offer a trillion-dollar infrastructure plan
Daring Mr. Trump to make good on his grand infrastructure promises, Senate Democrats on Tuesday will unveil a trillion-dollar plan to rebuild the nation’s roads, railways, airports, waterways and sewer systems over 10 years.
“From our largest cities to our smallest towns, communities across the country are struggling to meet the challenges of aging infrastructure,” Senator Chuck Schumer of New York, the Democratic leader, will say. “Our urban and rural communities have their own unique set of infrastructure priorities, and this proposal would provide funding to address those needed upgrades that go beyond the traditional road and bridge repair.”
Republicans resisted President Barack Obama’s push for an infrastructure “surge” for eight years, arguing that the federal government couldn’t afford it and that state and local governments should shoulder more responsibility for improvements. But Mr. Trump has taken up the Democratic cause.
“We will build new roads, and highways, and bridges, and airports, and tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation,” he vowed in his Inaugural Address.
The plan dedicates $180 billion to rail and bus systems, $65 billion to ports, airports and waterways, $110 billion for water and sewer systems, $100 billion for energy infrastructure, and $20 billion for public and tribal lands.
“We’re asking President Trump to work with us to make it a reality,” Mr. Schumer will say.
From the NY Times today.
Oh - it was the Republicans that were not working together to do something everyone thought was a good idea. Imagine that! And now we are all about how the Democrats need to work together.

My guess is that few of those things will be appealing to a libertarian. Removing tariffs and other barriers to the free flow of goods is a positive thing for the world economy. Protectionism is not.
My hope is this starts the sides working together. And stopping with the petty nonsense.
Petty nonsense like this?
Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell: "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."
Nonsense like this question from an October 2011 CNN poll?
===
In general, do you hope that Barack Obama’s policies will succeed or do you hope that his policies will fail?
Republicans:
Succeed 39%
Fail 51%

FIRST FOUR DAYS OF CARNAGE
It is only day 4 under this new administration and things are getting scarier. Trump issued gag orders on various government agencies, the EPA and the USDA among them.
Scientists at the research division of the US Department of Agriculture are no longer allowed to communicate with the public about taxpayer-funded research.
So our new President who hasn't paid taxes has ordered two government agencies to stop giving information to those of us whose tax dollars fund their research. Information that as tax paying American citizens we are entitled to.
How insane is that! And this is only day 4! Day 4!
I'm frightened to see how much this monster is going to take away and destroy as time goes on.
Historians take note.

"So that idiot Mitch McConnell is your role model? This is who you choose to be like? To be the new Party of No? Good to Know. Says a lot about you.
