So I'm playing piano in the pit for a musical for the first time. To any other pit musicians, what are some things you wish you'd known the first time you played in an orchestra?

It's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I was originally playing Synthesizer, but they couldn't find a pianist, so I'm playing Piano and merging in the important Synth parts.
That's a relatively difficult book. You'll probably end up keeping your eyes on the page while watching the conductor out of the corner of your eyes (or, more specifically, the top edge of your eyes). Should be a fun show!
