They did not give critics advance tickets, so they had the curtain today at 5:30 PM to allow the critics to write their reviews tonight to make their deadlines according to an article linked to the front of this site.
This doesn't have anything to do with The Front Page, but wasn't there a big fuss about Jeremy Gerard being laid off from Deadline a few months back? He's still reviewing shows so what happened?
neon -- Jeremy lost his staff position at Deadline but they continue to use him as a stringer.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
The fact that I think Brantley's review was excellently written has nothing to do with the fact that it is exactly what I think. I have seen much better productions of this play, but no one has ever been as memorable in any role as Nathan Lane is.
