WAR PAINT on Broadway |
Wacky that the art makes them appear to be the same height. In Chicago, Ebersole appeared to be a foot taller than LuPone.
Is this better?

Saw this in Chicago and loved it. Any word on changes or rewrites? I will say this - the format - going back and forth between the two ladies' storylines does get predictable but altering that would require wholesale changes that never seems to happen these days between Chicago and New York. Its a design orgasm and a diva feast. LuPone has the more difficult role and Christine the better 11 o'clock number but both are perfect. Cant wait to see it again. And why has it been banished to the Nederlander? Dull artwork - discreet theater - jeeze that's no way to treat these ladies.
givesmevoice, I'm crying.
A video they just added to their instagram page

Definitely LuPone's Back On Top.

Thought this was interesting. I wonder how major the changes between the new book and the old book are that David Korins would have to change his set design. Hmmmmmm

Times Talk with Lupone and Ebersole. They are talking about the show and singing songs from it!!!!!
Ebersole on Hillary Clinton: "I'll default to Patti" - couldn't tell if there was subtext or if it was simply because the question was related to an experience Patti discussed earlier.
Question from young audience member about what they should learn about politics and equality. Ebersole: "Patti, it's all yours". Ok, I think it is clear that Ebersole is trying to avoid a controversial conversation.
Ebersole isn't exactly known for being liberal or feminist, so yeah, definitely trying to avoid an awkward moment and upset an entire room of gays...

I was thinking the same exact thing.
I have to concede that tickets don't seem to be moving as quickly as I thought they would (i.e., I was wrong).....the key differences from the try out vs now (e.g., larger theatre, longer run and more competition) probably will make all the difference. I would expect a discount code before performances start.
Went to buy tickets for this today, but I'll be holding out for a discount code. I'm sorry - those prices are absurd.
