I wouldnt hold your breath. Things don't usually announce when they fall apart (not saying this is the case).
I'd rather someone right a fresh, new Marilyn musical.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
They've posting pictures of Diane Paulus for the past few hours. All the captions have links that lead to past shows she's directed at ART and lyrics to Let Me Be Your a Star from Smash. Maybe it's a stretch, but anyone else think either they're trolling us really hard or Diane is at the helm of the Bombshell musical that will premiere out of town at ART next season?

I'm kind of glad to hear that ART won't be producing the world premiere, mainly because I think director Diane Paulus has been much more successful on revivals than she has on new musicals.
I don't think we should move on! BOMBSHELL is an amazing score and I would love to see Wittman and Shaiman hone it without the strict demands from NBC. And to work onstage they would have to cut some (actually a LOT) of the numbers and maybe write some more. And actually create a book LOL.
The fact that BWW reported on that with absolutely no facts is HILARIOUS though. But really, what could A.R.T. have expected people to think???
As of 2016, Shaiman and Wittman are still working on Bombshell, and had been in negotiation with a bookwriter. The trouble is that at this point, it's a passion project and not a big commissioned moneymaker for them. Shaiman in particular is hugely in demand, and it's much more likely that he'll do a little work here and there on his baby while taking on more lucrative gigs like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." So Bombshell WILL eventually happen, I believe- if the much less-developed "Hit List" could get a concert staged reading with book and all, "Bombshell" can do better than the concert version too.
ART is officially the worst and I'm blocking them on all social media. Good riddance. How can they be so cruel?

I agree with this wholeheartedly. The songs were brutal, honest, and really really well written.
As for - "I really don't think people are craving a musical about Marilyn Monroe."
I wasn't craving for a War & Peace, Carole King, mormons, or even a musical about Alexander Hamilton. But they all came anyway and are ruling the theater district. I'd argue that more people are craving for Bombshell to come to Broadway that any of the examples I gave.
