Well, I finally decided and settled on some dates.  Surprisingly enough, I decided to check the airfare rates for Dec. 25th (via Southwest Airlines).  They turned to be quite reasonable.  Also, I was pleasantly surprised that the Mayfair on 49th Street had a special daily rate for those days.  I wound up paying about two hundred less with the dates that I selected.  Btw, I stayed at the Mayfair when I last visited NYC last Dec. 26th.  I would love to see even a wee bit of snow during my stay.  We don't get the white stuff in my corner of the world.  I definitely want to see "Chicago" (duh)....for sure "Falsettos"....probably "Phantom" for the very first time (Chicago tour Amos-Jacob Watson is playing a guy who gets killed in the show).  I don't know what 4th show I'd like to see.  Lamentably, I will not be able to see the Divine Miss M as "Dolly".  "Start spreading the news...."Roman in Austin, Texas  P.S.  My flight arrives at LGA at 1:10 p.m.  It would be pushing it to even consider trying to make the 2:30 p.m. show for "Chicago."

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I've heard it mentioned on Sirius XM on Broadway.  It is highly regarded.

If you want to see Dear Evan Hansen, buy a ticket soon. It's selling really well.

Come see SOR to discover the other side of him. You'll never believe the same guy wrote both shows!

"Oh hello no.  I hate him for what he did to Patti LuPone during the Sunset controversy.  "The North remembers."  But anyway, I'm curious about Phantom.  Jacob Watson is playing Joseph Buquet.  He played Amos Hart in the 2015 Chicago National Tour.  I can't order Chicago tickets now, because the discounted tickets expire on Dec. 18th.  I almost forgot about CATS.  I may want to see that, after all of those backstage videos with (the dreamy) Tyler Hanes.  There's also "Paramour" with (the dreamy) Reed Kelly (detect a pattern yet?)  I may be able to squeeze in a Xmas Spectacular show, before the Dec. 25th evening perf of Chicago.

So many good choices! I saw Evan Hansen and highly recommend it. Looking forward to seeing Great Comet and also, Sweet Charity is playing through the end of December.

Last year, I had the chance to meet one BWW member, Smidge.  I've always wondered about some of you people here on BWW...the persons behind the username.  I would love the chance to meet some BWW members.  I almost met PalJoey one year (during Xanadu).

Don't know why DEH is getting so much love. The book was sloppy at best and the music was not P&P's best work   The only thing that makes it worth seeing is Ben Platt

Here is a list of productions with a performance on December 25:

http://www.playbill.com/article/broadways-christmas-week-2016-performance-schedule

It's usually a great day to see a show. You can usually get great discounted seats, given that Christmas Day performances are often not as well attended as other performances.

I agree with those saying Dear Evan Hansen should be at the top of your list.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

My first ticket purchase was to my favorite show:  Xmas Day at 7 pm.  I'm debating whether to go see the Radio City Musical Hall Xmas Spectacular at 4 p.m. on that day.  I went there last year.  There were a bunch of people videotaping.  The young ushers were not doing anything about it.

People know what I look like, since I don't mind posting my real picture.  Actually, I would be very curious about meeting the (in)famous Jordan Catalano and perhaps PalJoey.  I wouldn't know how to arrange one.

Dear Evan Hansen does indeed have great performances, but I think it will have a healthy life in regional theatre. Great Comet is likely to be a much more unique show that can't really tour, so I'd prioritize that one.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I went to see the summer show, and a group of 20 were let in right after the show started-busy chatting and laughing. Personally I am not going back to Radio City.

Thank you smidge for mentioning Sweet Charity!  I will be visiting NYC the weekend of my birthday in mid-December and did not know the show had been extended.  Thanks to your message I now do and I'll be spending some quality birthday time in the presence of Sutton!  Thanks again!

Great to hear that Romain! Never saw a production of Charity and looking forward to it. Also, can't believe it's almost a year since I met Patti (Roman) at Allegiance. Really hope you can fit a lot in on this trip. Even though we boards members bicker and have attitudes, we all care about live theater and its' future. The information received from this board has been extraordinary. Thanks everyone, hope Roman gets to meet up with some of you!

The Great Comet. I'm so excited for it's return. Be it a bust or a hit, the show is unlike anything that's been around in a very long time.

I don't really mind the show.  It's the ignorant dumb-butts who blatantly videotape the show.  Too many lit screens in a dark theatre.

OR! you may happen to be at the same place, same show at the same time and meet that way!

i have to say, I've made very nice aquaintances here on BBW.  My husband has been on a forum for watches for years and many met by  getting together for "watch meets".  The most memorable one in New Orleans.  How amazing it would be to have a group here attend a show and grab dinner.

Please see Cynthia Erivo in The Color Purple during your stay!

I just bought my 2nd ticket of my trip.  I'm seeing the "Radio City Musical Hall Christmas Spectacular" for the 4 p.m. performance.  My flight is scheduled to arrive at LGA at 1:10 p.m.  So, if I take a taxi directly to the hotel, I should make it in plenty of time.  I really hate the long line outside to Radio City Musical Hall just to get in.  I'm waiting on other shows for now, as the current discounts only go up to Dec. 18th.  I need to check if there are any Monday matinees I can see.  I definitely need to make plans to meet up with some of youse.

http://www.playbill.com/article/broadways-new-years-week-2016-performance-schedule    For Monday, Dec. 26, I have the following to choose from:  Aladdin (1 pm., 7 pm), Cats (2 pm, 730pm), Kinky Boots (2 pm, 8pm), Paramour (3pm, 8 pm), Phantom (2 pm, 8 pm).  For Tuesday, Dec. 27th:  Chicago : ) 2:30 pm, 8 pm or The Illusionists: 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 8 p.m.  I may also consider Matilda (2 p.m., 8 p.m.) ONLY  because I wouldn't mind seeing  Queen Lesli (Margherita).  I am leaning towards: Cats, Paramour, The Illusionists and a second show of Chicago.
