New Trailer - Natalie Portman as Jackie O. |
Portman is receiving the best reviews of her career. She will easily get her third Academy Award nomination with this project. And the film itself was highly lauded in the festival circuit, resulting in a bidding war over who would get the distribution rights. Fox Searchlight had first dibs due to Darren Aronofsky's producing credit. In regard to the Oscars: I think it will be between Portman and Emma Stone in Lead Actress, with Viola Davis likely dropping to Supporting.
Hi Jordan! I saw this trailer earlier this afternoon and was immediately intrigued. Portman is one of my favorite actresses - she blew me away with her performance in "Closer" - she looks absolutely luminous in this and from what I've read is getting some terrific notices.
Count me in. I am excited for this as well.
My apologies to you east side story. It seems we were posting our thoughts at the same time.
I wouldn't be surprised if she scores an Oscar nod.
Cant wait to see this!

I'm stoked. At this point in her career and life, Portman is the pitch-perfect choice to embody such an iconic figure. A bonus is that the director is Pablo Larraín who co-directed the series Profugos for HBO Latino and the sublime film Neruda. I'm old fashioned. I expect any motion picture presented on the big screen to be larger than life...not something that looks like it was shot with a smart phone camera in bad lighting. I can't get the trailer out of my head.
If it didn't say who directed it, based slowly on that trailer is guess it was a Terrence Malick film.
This looks stunning and Portman looks like she's giving an iconic performance. I can't wait.
Portman is stunning, never was one for Jackie seemed like her eyes were way too far apart.
Yeah, I'm sure you're a real catch yourself, South Florida.

And just what is your excuse for being so damned disturbing? Do you possess a third nipple? Horrific acne scars? A tumor on your forehead? Chronic halitosis?

No, no, not anymore, yes but it's not chronic.

Wow you are just full of cliches today among other things. You are a real f*cking keeper.

Good call Kad. Curious as to why the idolization of her, JFK, and the whole family.
It has nothing to do with her standing as an icon and everything to do with the fact your only reaction to this film trailer is based entirely around the looks of both Portman and Jackie O., crudely denigrating the latter in comparison to the former. It's gross.
So we're not allowed to make comments about the relative attractiveness of dead people?
Daniel Day-Lewis is much better looking than Abraham Lincoln, who had a big nose and a weak chin. Sorry for being gross and crude.
^you may be allowed to, but you shouldn't.
That was a great teaser trailer for this board. I'm not so sure the masses will connect Richard Burton's "Camelot" with the subject matter. Sadly. But it sure worked for me and there will be additional trailers issued for this film that will probably appeal to a wider audience. Can't wait to see it!!
