SNL UPdate...Funny or Not 2016 |
I loved the opening. I loved the librarian. I loved Leslie and the hacker. I loved the round table discussion. I loved the scooby doo bit. So I don't know what you're talking about.

I thought it was one of the best overall episodes in a while. The cast felt cohesive and prepared, the writing was tight and fresh, and the show had a polish in general that made me really excited for the rest of the season. So far the new head writers are off to a great start. So, nope, I totally disagree with the OP

Yes Jordan and I seem to have enjoyed the same sketches. so, what he said.
I thought the cold opening was very strong, and Baldwin was a great Trump (not terribly surprising, as Baldwin is a talented impressionist). The other sketches ran hot and cold, per usual.

And Family Feud! Although I love Larry David too much to be objective there.
Family Feud had some funny parts (the Trump kids, McKinnon's dead on Kellyanne Conway)but didn't cohere well for me. I was surprised David returned for it.
I thought it was a great episode. I love Kate McKinnon (although I prefer Poehler's Clinton) and I thought the "Women in Hollywood" sketch was fantastic. And Cecily's character at Weekend Update!
Glad to have it back.
I thought the show was really good, funny. and I usually think it is pretty sucky. Family Feud. Librarien. Leslie were great. Did u hear right they have new head writer? Bravo.great start.
Alec was ok but i think the guy who did Trump last year was way better. Kate is the best. I dont get the whole Gina thing he kept saying.i never heard Trump say that. Also Margot is goddess. Great funny host and maybe the most beautiful woman on Planet Earth.
Yeah, I'm just not a fan of Kate's HillaryClinton. I don't get the big fuss people make about it. I liked Amy MUCH better.

Couldn't disagree more with the OP. It was a very strong season premiere. Solid, smooth and steady. Just what we should be expecting. Looking forward to this season
Overall, I thought it was the funniest episode in recent memory. So many sketches just worked. Even the relatively dumb Florida news sketch was quite funny thanks to the great performances. It gave me hope for a decent season.

I thought Alec was epic - a good imitation and also a great caricature. I love Kate and I thought it was hilarious! Leslie Jones is my hero!
Kates Hilary is presidential candidate Hilary while Amy's Hilary was senator Hilary. Two totally different people.

LOL
I guess I'm in the minority or wasn't in the right mood or didn't take any happy pills. I just saw it as a lot of one-joke set-ups followed by 6 minutes of variations on the same joke like the Family Feud, the sinkhole...the ladies roundtable was cute though.
i laughed a lot with shirtless Putin on Family Feud, also with the Trump Brothers. Thought the episode was VERY strong.Going to be rough going, there are four more shows before the election with only one week off. An insane schedule.
New Cast memberss show promise...Women in Film was a good idea. I think it could be taken further and I hope they revive her character.... Baldwin was quite good and loved Kate's fishing rod bit.
The cold open is hilarious.
Baldwin's Trump is inspired. Kate McKinnon at Hillary's headquarters was a joy to see. The whole thing was really well put together.
Lin-Manuel Miranda is so at ease. He's absolutely killing it in my book.
I thought this was a super strong episode. It helps that such a tremendous gift presented itself, too. The cold open and Weekend Update were both great. Loved "Crucible Cast Party," which totally nailed it.
The show last night w/LMM was really the SNL that we see in re-runs. Very very funny, topical of course and a musical guest (Twenty-One Pilots) that didn't suck. And they were all great. Even Tina Fey was back!
I don't know if people tuned in to watch the Baldwin/McKinnon silliness or LMM but it got it's highest rating since 2008. It may have been premature for LMM to think that people didn't know who he was, other than theater people. His "SNL Shot Rap" was totally inspired.
ugh, last nights show was a big let down especially compared to last weeks brilliant premiere. Lin was good in what they gave him to do,and I did like the Day Off and Substitute Teacher skits but that Crucible bit was very long and painful, and that soldier bit with the buttplug seemed very homophobic.
