Couldn't find a discussion on this. What did everyone think? I loved it. Good to see them back together for a good cause. Would be fun if they did a 10 minute episode once in a while.
That was a scene; not an episode. My understanding is that it was an attempt at viral marketing to test the waters for an official Will & Grace reboot. That would be a huge mistake, and I say that as a massive fan of the original series. There's nothing new, unique or groundbreaking about the show in 2016.
One can only hope, Liza. I doubt it was meant to be anything more or less than that one scene. But if the reboot is indeed in the mind of producers, with the writing team staying true to the original characters (which they did in the skit), I think it will find an audience without much difficulty. The thing went viral instantly because of how loved the show still is. The characters are all instantly relatable to even newer audiences which is something even shows like Modern Family struggle with to date

Can this be regarded as "canon"? Not sure how an reboot might work, unless you totally discount the original finale - where Will & Grace lost touch and didn't speak for a couple of decades, if I recall correctly. That was a crock of sh!t, so I am actually thrilled to see the four characters together in 2016 as if nothing happened.

Yeah if they were going by series they would not be talking right now. And didn't Stan finally die for good? Must have come back to life when they were off the air. I'm find with them acting like that awful last season (especially the Finale) never happened.
