Update: BANDSTAND will officially open at the Jacobs! |

Never trust a transfer announcement until they give concrete details aside from "we're coming, we swear!"

This is hands down the best gif I've seen on BWW. I can't stop laughing.

They do have a listing on telecharge, which leads one to believe they are close to an official announcement.
I've heard from someone who was involved with the production at Papermill, and all plans to bring the show to Broadway have gone silent. They don't expect this show on Broadway any time soon.

Papermill already has a show on Broadway this season. And I think, if it was going to happen, it would have happened or been announced. Andy is a busy guy, so I'm sure they'd have solidified it by now.

A listing on telecharge means absolutely nothing.

I feel like we've had a handful of Bandstand trolls. Is someone just sitting at home making new usernames just to ask about The Bandstand?
LOL, I have to say I've been thinking the same thing, neon. Why do people care so much about this show?
Yeah, I'm finding it very strange as well. I find it very unlikely that a show that only has had one regional production and no other way to get the material out (ie cast recording or concerts or whatever) has such a dedicated following.

Bandstand trolls: are you Laura Osnes? You can tell us.
I guess it helps that Laura Osnes and Corey Cott have a young, enthusiastic and sizeable fan base?
LMFAO @neonlightsxo. I have a mental image of Laura Osnes bent over a computer creating fake BWW accounts LOL.
For what it's worth, I care about whether or not it opens because I do like Laura Osnes and Corey Cott, and above all because it's an original musical. I love good adaptations as much as anyone, but it's refreshing to see an attempt at creating something new without riding on an existing "brand" name. Osnes and Cott appearing together at a Broadway Princess Party a while back did a lot to ramp up enthusiasm among some fans too, I think.
Really makes you wonder.. what IS a fake BWW account? It's all anonymous anyway. Am I fake? :O #FridayBeOverAlready

I'm SO glad I'm not the only one who thinks these Bandstand inquiries are BS.
This show looks incredibly dull and I can't understand who would be taken by it. I never expected this to transfer. It seems so unoriginal and uncreative. Who is craving to see it?
I agree with everything you said, theatregoer3. I just think the material and premise sound very bland.
I do hope we get Ms. Osnes back on Broadway in something very good and soon, though.
I never expected it to transfer but enjoyed it more than "A Bronx Tale" which will end up raking in the tourists' bucks for a while.
Will it, though? I don't see much commercial success for Bronx Tale, and if it achieves any glimmer of it, it'll be with the Jersey market, not tourists.
