Auditioning for The Drowsy Chaperone! |
Hi! What are some of your favorite styles/shows? Maybe I could find something similar.
Hi! I don't know exactly what my range is. I sang alto for a very long time, but then I met my vocal coach who told me that I've been a soprano all these years! Since then I've been working on songs with ranges to that of Astonishing, The Light in the Piazza, Someone Like You (Jeckyll and Hyde). I'm comfortable quite low (Cabaret) and high (The Light in the Piazza). Sorry I can't give anymore information, but I really don't know what my highest and lowest are!! (I should figure that out)
I like all kinds of musical theatre, anything from the Golden Ages to Hamilton, but I'm looking for something that's in the style of The Drowsy Chaperone. I've watched the musical once on youtube, but I can't find any songs similar to those styles that are on the "Overdone" or "Bad Audition Songs" lists
Any suggestions for audition songs are welcome! I'll listen to them and see if they're a good fit for me.
Thank you for your effort!
