My best friend recently surprised me with a trip to the ole Broadway for my birthday.and am excitedly sitting at the airport waiting to take off. Just a few day holiday to see a few shows and enjoy the city. After a rough couple of years for me this is a much needed trip. We're seeing Fun Home on my bday. Can't wait!

We saw School of Rock last night. Besides a great showstopper for the kids in the first act I thought it was a pedestrian evening with zero effort made on any character development. And there's a first act number that sounds exactly like "Someone Else's Story" from Chess. Seeing Fun Home tonight which will make up for last night's mess.

Saw Fun Home last night and adored it. So glad I saw this staging instead of in the barn the tour is playing in Seattle. Seeing The Humans matinee and Waitress this evening.

Saw The Humana this afternoon. Such a fascinating, moving play with top-notch performances all around. Headed to Waitress this evening. Still up in the air on what to see tomorrow

Walked by The Color Purple. rush line at 7 this morning. And it was already around 20 people Went back at 11 on a whim and got $59 rush in row F for this evening. Very excited. Was going to do Holiday Inn with my friend but knew I'd regret missing Color Purple with this cast.

And loved Waitress. A lot that could have been fixed book and score wise but still a highly enjoyable evening.
