Hamilton in Chicago |
Not really.
it would be cool if the field museum brought in a Hamilton exhibit while the show was here though.

My 7 year old son is obsessed with Hamilton and I was wondering if there are any Hamilton-y things do beyond going to the show (which we do not have tickets for)? We will for sure get his picture in front of the theater (which appears to be a short walk from our hotel) but beyond that I am stumped, any other ideas would be appreciated!
"
I don't think there is really anything Hamilton related in Chicago. At least not that I noticed when we were there a few months ago.
Candace Quarrels went on for Eliza today so she has now gone on for all three Schuyler sisters!
And our seats! We bought tickets that seemed to randomly pop up on Ticketmaster on Sunday. Dress Circle left center row B, right on the aisle. They were amazing! I was in the end seat and because of the way the seats were staggered I had nothing in front of me. We were central enough that we could see the entire stage, nothing was cut off and close enough to see plenty of details.
"
Are the seats staggered more on the aisles? I am sitting on the right side of the dress circle in August (right on the aisle, and was wondering about that. Looking at pictures of the seating taken from the stage it seems like that is the case. I was just wondering if you or someone else here knew.
Looks like Karen Olivo is leaving Hamilton Chicago on August 6th -

Any chance she'd be taking over for Mandy Gonzalez on Broadway thereafter?

This is sad news. She is truly brilliant as Anjelica.
Okay seems like a good place to post this
If anyone has an extra understudy slip that lists Joseph Morales as Hamilton, I would really like to trade you for it or buy it off you. Trying to collect slips for all the A.Hams and he's one of the last two I need.
I am seeing the show for the first time just before she leaves, on August 3rd, and I have been looking forward to seeing her after hearing so many great things. Hope she's in that night!
Do they have a cancellation line?

90 seconds in Microsoft Word should do the trick

Miguel is the only one off Sundays, no other role has an alternate. She should be on, though one can never say when someone will call out
I already have tickets to Hamilton in LA, but since we were in Chicago for a long weekend, I decided that our first time seeing Hamilton deserved a smaller theater than the Pantages.
We loved the show, of course, and were ecstatic at how well we could see the stage from our right box seats. I was initially apprehensive because they were "limited view", but the only things we couldn't see were bits happening on the far right side of the stage.
The only person out was Daniel Breaker, and Colby Lewis covered his part. From reading through this thread, people have seen Lewis as Layfayette, Washington and Madison, but no one has mentioned his Burr, so I have no idea how often he's done it. He screwed up the words a few times, including during Wait For It, which took me out of it a bit. But other than a few lyrical missteps, I liked his mannerisms and the way he played Burr.
I loved Karen Olivo as Angelica (and was so glad to catch her before she leaves on Sunday), and Chris Lee was a perfect Jefferson. And while I am sure most of the people on this board have seen the show before, it was really thrilling to see the staging for the first time.
We see the LA cast in a few weeks, so I am eager to see how they compare!
Karen Olivo played her final performance today. Can't wait to hear how Montego Glover is! I know her prior role, in les mis, people weren't too pleased. So I hope this is a better fit for her!
