Saw "School Of Rock" this weekend and loved it. I was just curious how many shows the "kids" in the band do each week.

Why the quotes? They’re all real kids.

I don't think it's all of them. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I thought they did something similar to Matilda where the swings go on like once a week.

I can tell you with all the certainty in the world that they are scheduled for 8 shows per week.  This is not speculation

I think of kids as younger than these children, it was not intended to be any type of put down. The definition of kid can be anything from toddler to young adult.

Thanks for the information. Due to their age, was not sure about labor laws and how much they could work.

Jeez, that's amazing! I didn't know that was legal though. Aren't there child labor laws in place that usually prevent that? Is this usual for child actors to be doing a full 8 shows a week?

There are a few different laws in play combined with a union contract that regulate childrens hours.  The laws are followed to a t by the production.  When school is not in session the state law allows them to work I believe 9 hrs per day and they must be done by midnight.  Needless to say they can easily get all the performances in.  The state does not have a number of days per week or hours per week provision.  The union contract is a tougher guideline then the state law.

Im not familiar with what other shows do.  I know that the kids of SOR actually love performing and hanging out with their friends at the theatre

More shows than not have their kids on a regular show schedule -- Annie did, Fun Home does.  I think its more common than uncommon.
