Does anyone know exactly what it is? I know that Vivienne has an Ab5 belt at the end of the Legally Blonde Remix. Brooklyn has an Ab5 belt at the end of Once Upon a Time. There's an A5 belt in Hell No! and the end of Push Da Button from the 2016 recording of The Color Purple, and (although it's very scream-like) there are a few B5 belts in Disaster! in the nun's solo. Any other crazy high belts ON CAST RECORDINGS?

I know the longest would be Cuccioli belting This Is The Moment from J/ H. He, seemed to hold it forever.

The only belting that really matters is Patti on the Evita cast album singing "A New Argentina." Everything else is child's play.

I don't know if it is a true belt or head voice, but I Got Rhythm from AAIP has a pretty high note. I would say that Kate Shindle has another high belt in "I Will Prevail" from Wonderland, but I would have to go back and see how it compares to Legally Blonde.
"Screw Loose" from Cry-Baby is also up there,but then again, I'm an alto with a low belt, so it all seems high.

there's a pretty high note in 'At The Ballet' from A Chorus Line. I think Mara Davi sang it in the revival? She practically blew out the speakers the night I saw it.

She sang it last at during the production at the Hollywood Bowl, and it, along with the rest of the show, was glorious.

I am tone deaf and thus have no idea what the note is, but Eden's final note in "Once Upon A Time" in BKLYN is pretty crazy up there.

The highest note I've heard come from a man was Ramin Karimloo as JVJ in les Mis. He belts "took my fliiiggghhtt". On any of the cast recordings, they just end up screaming it, but Ramin actually sung it falsetto.

Ramin Karimloo hasn't appeared on any recording as Jean Valjean, unfortunately.

Mara's AT THE BALLET is an E5
Eden's ONCE UPON A TIME pops a G#5 but sustains and F#5
Screwloose pops an F#5 and sustains an E5
Melba Moore belts an A5 in I GOT LOVE from Purlie.
Disaster will have multiple B5's from Jennifer Simmard during Never Can Say Goodbye
Kerry Butler had a G5 during WITHOUT LOVE from Hairspray

Luckily.
On the Phantom and Les Mis dvd's I have no clue what the melodies or notes are supposed to be as he shouts above it all the time.
There is a bootleg recoring of his "Valjean's soliloquy" where he does not sing 1 note on key.

I believe that's an E. She hits an F a few times in that song as well. Phillipa has a great way of making high belts sound so effortless and crisp.

What about the actor who plays Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar? I cannot recall his name, but I've heard him on Sirius XM on Broadway. I'm agog when he goes into that high note. I don't know if that is considered a belt, but it is exceptional.

How high is Betty Buckley's last note in "The Writing on the Wall" from Edwin Drood? It's pretty crazy-high and she holds it for a long time. Most others who played the part (including Donna Murphy) didn't go up the fourth interval for that last note and opted to hold the previous not instead. For the revival, they lowered they key for Stephanie J. Block.
As a belted note, I remember my jaw dropped in the theatre when she did it.

Best12Bars, Bette Buckley belts a glorious E at the end of Writing On The Wall. Thanks for the clip, I remember watching her control both the stage and every inch of the music. Actually, the entire cast was remarkable.
PThespian, he entire thread is about belt notes. I am confused as to why you feel compelled to answer when you admit that you do not even know what a belt note is. Google is your friend.
Also, Christine in Phantom is one of the most legit (non-belt) roles in musical theater today.
The soprano note you are referring to is so high that it is not even sung live in the theater and is on track. But it is always the current woman on the stage recording the track at the beginning of her contract.

Forgot about this gem. Melba Moore stopping the show and winning a Tony Award in "Purlie!" Her notes toward the end are off the chart. This is her live performance from the Tonys that year.
