His portrayal of Bruce was so convincing I thought he was gay even though I knew he wasn't and had a girlfriend prior to thinking this.
no wonder he won a tony award.
i know many people who have received tony awards and their careers didn't really take off, but I'm shock Michaels hasn't. I would think Stephen Spielberg or JJ Abrams would sign him on to some role or he would be getting some tv pilot instead he has been with the show for its entirety.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

I think his career has taken off, but he seems to prefer theatre over film. I think that people honestly, don't recognize him a lot of the time. He disappears so well into his roles.
My favorite Sweeney, too (I never saw Len Cariou).
Also a great guy. A friend mentioned that somehow Michael had seen his post when he had to have his foot amputated and Michael sent a message that he and the whole Fun Home cast wished him the best.
Thus far, I've seen him as Sweeney, Peron, and Bruce. I can't wait for many more great performances in the coming years.
I've mentioned this before on here, but I can't help but second the notion that MC is just a great guy all around. He was kind enough to record a song I wrote for my upcoming album, and I couldn't have been more honored! It's due for release in about 4-6 weeks, but in the meantime you can hear the song at https://soundcloud.com/brandonsturiale/change-brandon-sturiale-featuring-michael-cerveris if you'd like.
Can't wait to see what future projects he has coming up!
Yes, he has been in a long term relationship for awhile. Do not feel comfortable sharing with whom here but she is lovely and also in the theatre community.

Maybe, but is there a more distinctive and recognizable male singing voice on Broadway? Well, maybe Adam Pascal's. But nobody sounds like Cerveris, and his is one of the few voices I can always instantly identify. He's got that ... I don't even know what to call it ... that sexy guttural thing going on.
