I'm going to see a matinee performance of the Color Purple on July 23rd, and I was wondering if Cynthia performs weekend matinee performances or if her understudy goes on. I'll be crushed if I don't get a chance to see her!

All cast members do all scheduled performances unless they're sick or on vacation. I just checked Telecharge and there are no scheduled absences at the moment.

I saw a matinee in mid-May. The entire cast was in (and spectacular).

Is it common for telecharge and Ticketmaster or the show's website to post planned cast absences? If so, how do I find that information? We are interested in Color Purple on Friday 7/8 or Saturday 7/9 or Wednesday 7/13.

Thanks neon. Someone mentioned on a thread a couple of weeks ago that Danielle Brooks posted on Twitter in late June that she wouldn't be there on July 9th. But I haven't read that anywhere else.
