Question about Book of Mormon in Chicago (Spoilers)

I am finally seeing Book of Mormon in Chicago this week.  What has kept me from the show is knowing there's a loud sudden gun shot in it.  I have a PTSD involving guns plus sensitive ears.  You guys have helped me in the past. My question:  is the gun shot recorded or an actual blank fired on stage? I have looked at the script and know where it happens.  This might strike some as too much but gun shots do a number on me.  I prefer recorded (as in Eclipsed or  Hamilton).  I'm working on it.  Thank you so much!

It is nothing like a gunshot you would hear in Les Miz or Phantom. There is a "POW" kind of noise, but there's no actual gunpowder used. 

It's not that sudden. If you need to cover your ears, do it in the scene when one of the village men is trying to keep the General from attacking his wife. The line leading up to it starts with "All females in this village will be circumcised." 

It's about 3/4 of the way through Act 1. There's nothing else like that in Act 2.

The gun shot is a recorded sound cue; it's not fired live.

Might be important to note that although the gunshot in BoM is not jarring like Les Miz or Phantom, visually  it is pretty graphic.  It's definitely one of the most shocking moments I've seen on stage.  Someone who has PTSD might have trouble with it.
