Something Rotten rush

I'm hoping to see Something Rotten for the evening show on Saturday July 9. There will probably be 4 of us, maybe 6. Is there usually a good amount of rush tickets available? Should I line up early? Are the seats decent? Or would TKTS be better?

thanks!

I've rushed this show 3 times. I get there at 830am and have always been the first in line. The tickets are restricted view, which is the whole front row, usually about 20 tickets. They only allow 2 per person, so if you require 6, then 3 of you will have to queue up.

8:30 and the box office opens at 10? Is there usually a line up or would our chances still be good if we got there at 9:30? I'd be fine to line up that long but I'd have a hard time convincing anyone else in my group.

I got there after the Box Office opened and got a ticket. It's not always front row either as some of those can be lottery tickets. I was in the mezzanine in the 2nd row. You think 90 minutes is a long wait? Don't try rushing anything else.

Why not try having everyone in your group enter the lottery? We tried and, even though we didn't win, were able to purchase "lottery loser" tickets. Our seats in the mezzanine were great, full view of the stage.

sorry I've never rushed before except for Avenue Q so I didn't know if it was a usual thing to have to show up early.

Paciencia I'll do the lottery, great idea! I didn't know there was a lottery loser deal :)

I did rush two Saturdays ago and was in line by 8:45. Contrary to some of my previous experiences, almost everyone wanted the evening show so they didn't even split the line between matinee and evening when the box office opened. I was only able to get two singles in the mezz but the ushers seated us together. Other times, 8:30-8:45 has been enough time to get front row.

Last July 4th weekend, I was able to get a rush ticket at noon.

I rushed this morning. I arrived around 8:30ish and was 3rd in line. By the time 10am rolled around it was a fairly long line.

Considering rushing the first performance of the new cast tomorrow. I've never tried to rush a show on day like this, when a bunch of new people are joining. Is it likely to be more crowded than usual? I'm thinking I might get there at 8 just to be safe. Does that sound about right to folks who have experience with the SR rush? Too early? Not early enough?

I've only rushed it once (last Monday's show), and think that 8 might be a bit to early but 30 minutes can't hurt you or your chances, that's for sure. If you want the extra buffer, 8 sounds fine.

I won the lottery to buy tickets online at ticketmaster for $35, can't go though, and I went last week. I can forward it to you. PM me.

Hey dudes. Just me popping in to be my predictable self. I'm cheap but also afraid of heights, so if anyone can speak to seat locations as of late, that'd be fab. I've got to do my civic duty and see Adam while I'm next in town. Thanks!

Seems to normally be front row or box seats

Haven't rushed lately but I plan to, that first weekend when Adam takes over.  Will report back then

Has anyone rushed for this show recently? Planning to go tomorrow so I will report back, but in the meantime if anyone has updates that would be great.

We rushed last Wednesday (October 12th), but I will say that it was the Jewish Holiday and schools were out which might have affected the line. We were #9 and #10 at about 9:30am. Our seats were right orchestra, front row, but we moved to mezzanine at intermission as front row in this theatre is too close, even sitting on a booster, unless you're a giant. :)

That is very helpful, thank you. I'm only 5'2 so hoping I don't get the front row. I wonder if they give the front row seats out first, or the ones in the mezzanine?

It probably depends on the show, but when I rushed The Color Purple, I asked if my group of three could be put in the same box (they usually give them out in groups of two) and they happily obliged, however I was 3rd in line. So it wouldn't hurt to ask if they had any mezz to give out!

I rushed this past Saturday. I got there at 9:30am and was 11th in line. I asked about mezzanine seats but was told it was either front row or box. I think the box would have been better. As others have said, the stage is so high that at times you can only see from their shoulders up or even not see them at all (albeit briefly). I did ask for the seat cushions but they are very squishy so they don't help too much, although they are comfortable. If this is something you want to see (and you should, it is awesome), then I would look on Todaytix, tkts booth, or maybe the code they give you when you lose the lottery. If you can only afford rush go for box. Hope this is helpful.
