I wonder if there was ever a show that never finished its first performance and closed after.

I heard Hughie was only 40-45 minutes long. Is that true? (I skipped it). If so, I definitely can't think of any shorter than that.

In terms of ones I've seen on Broadway, I can't remember which one was THE shortest, but Old Times, Fool For Love and Constellations all hovered around 65-75 minutes. The shortest professional show I've seen was "Bull" in London - something like 50-55 minutes

The shortest standalone professional play I've ever seen was Caryl Churchill's Drunk Enough to Say I Love You at the Public. It was 40 minutes start to finish.

Mamet's The Anarchist was about 65 minutes long.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Weren't there a few billboards in NYC that advertised the play, ART, with the tagline: "If you had seen ART, you'd be home by now."?
