Ben Vereen would be perfect for this.

Just thinking more about it, I'd love to see James Monroe Iglehart take over as Burr.

What if it wasn't an African American man as most are assuming??

(not saying it would be a woman by the way)

then the walls of the RRT will collapse because the casting would be vetoed and hordes of cash poor theatregoers would riot.

HMMM... Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Burr.  And maybe he can play the entire cast.

Or Danny Burstein since there's a dry spell for Law and Order roles.

@uncageg, let's hope the "friend" doesn't know, because that would definitely not sit well with his (or her? lol) new employer.

You need your own column, Now. I'd pay to read that.

What would happen if they cast an actual native american?

IMHO I see Queenie as being more of a brunette...

A woman?  Please. That's so dumb and just ridiculous.  Aaron Burr was a man.  His songs are written for a man.   I hope it's Kyle Scatliffe, Joshua Henry, or his incredible understudy Austin Smith.

I know, imagine? The other day I heard of Shakespeare done with all women somewhere; and the characters were actually MALE. It just makes no sense, these theater people don't know anything.

Burr should be a black man like he was in real life.

I played Rosencrantz in a production of Hamlet like that (except the female characters were played by males). It was terrible.

Burr to HamilPippin: You look frenzied. You look frazzled. Why must you write like you're running out of time?

Careful. I think we've moved past "light snark" in this thread.

Very true. That's why I suggested Daniel Dae Kim. :)

I know this thread is about who is the new Burr, but the new Eliza will probably be announced next week too hopefully. Any guesses?

If they keep it in the shuffle family, Adrienne Warren. Or even Courney Reed from Aladdin. She's been in that show for three years. Maybe she's ready for a whole new world.

I've been saying Michael K. Lee for weeks! (OK, maybe a week.)

Also, no one has pointed out yet that "LaneBryant" has posted a LOT about Shuffle Along.
